Hendrix, Again!

The Sisterhood of Crafters: Favorite Pet

Sometimes I just crack myself up! No, seriously, I’m not losing it!! So many years ago when I first started stamping and adding to my stash, the stamp show came to my area and I spend two days looking for some fun stamps. I found this one and unfortunately I forgot who made it but possible Rubbernecker stamps…..maybe and just had to have it. When we would dog sit for our son’s dogs, Hendrix would stop at every pole and tree and of course had to mark his territory. Not sure why because he was only visiting. This card is a favorite memory of that pet. The front panel was die cut using Spellbinder’s classic circle dies which is layered over the card base. My brick wall stenciled on the card base is Picket Fence’s English Brick Wall stencil, grass is from The Cat’s Pajama’s Grass Cut Ups Die, added a flag strip and sentiment from my stash.

I’m not sure who, if anyone, will receive this card but it was fun to make and tickled my funny bone. OK, I’ll let you in on a little secret. When we knew our first grandchild was going to be a boy I made a card with this same image and sent it to our friends. LOL…told you I just crack myself up sometimes!

This card will be entered into The Sisterhood of Crafters – Favorite Pet challenge.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you. Take care and be safe.

    1. LOL, Lisa, our son named his pets after songs he liked or recording artists. He had Clapton, Hendrix, PennyLane, Maggie Mae and Suki Jones. Thank goodness he doesn’t name the fish in his aquarium. I will say that he nicknames his daughter, Alexandra, “Zaney”. What’s a mom to do!!!Thanks for commenting on my card.

  1. Thank heaven you crack yourself up because then we get a little chuckle too. Love you you have him leaping off the page and the fun font of the sentiment.

  2. OMG this is too cute and made me ‘chuckle out loud’ when I saw it! I read your comment above about how your son names his pets … OMG that’s too funny too! He must have gotten his sense of humor from his mama!
Thanks for the chuckle Gayle and Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Sisterhood of Crafters challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.

  3. You crack others up too and we all love reading your process when you explain a card. Love this one and that dog is priceless. I can tell you why he stopped at every blade of grass – they have to leave a calling card and they need to overlay another animals scent properly.

    1. Thanks, Johanna, it is such a funny image and it fit silly Hendrix perfectly. Our little mini-doxie only had tiny little legs so he couldn’t lift his leg to mark his territory but leaned forward. LOL.

  4. Gayle, I’m another one you cracked up with this! That image is hilarious and you used it well. I had to laugh when you said you used it to announce your grandson. Enjoying what we do is part of wanting to do it, so cracking yourself (and the rest of us) up while doing it is perfect.

  5. What a fun card. It cracked me up too. Love how he’s jumping out of the circle. The bricks make a great background.
