I have a card stamped with mini ink cubes and a skeleton leaves. At first I didn’t like the background, but came back the next day and it looked better.

I started with Jelly Bean Green, Wild Dandelion, Tangerine Twist, and Tomato Soup inks. Then I came back and added Tranquil Teal, Plum Punch, and then Warm Cocoa. I definitely filled the page. I stamped leaves from the Skeleton Leaves mini stamp set all over the background then cut it with a stitched rectangle die. I placed the layer on a Honey Mustard card base. The words Thankful for You came from The Stitched Leaves mini-kit from a few years ago.

Lisa, this is stunning! Excellent job on the background!
I love this background. It is magnificent. Great card and take on the challenge Lisa.
What an awesome background. The ink cubes and colors look great with the skeleton leaves in black. Great take on the challenge.
Thanks! It looked so dark when I finished the background, I didn’t like it. I came back the next day and looked for a background and word die. The kit came to the rescue.
So very pretty and colorful, great design! Thank you for joining our challenge at Double D!

WOW!!! That background is amazing. Perfect fall card.
Lisa, this is fantastic. It looks like lots of colored leaves rather than just colors below and leaves on top. You really know how to create a great card.
Thank you! I wasn’t sure at first, but then it grew on me. Now that leaves are falling in my yard, it does look like the pile. They are mostly yellow right now, but they are beginning to fall.
Love your background. I think we are our own worst critics, when I create something I think is meh, I also walk away, sometimes a new perspective is all you need. I think this is fabulous, well done! Thanks so much for playing along with us at The Double D, Leaves Challenge. Donna, DT Member.
Thanks! You are so correct in getting a fresh perspective on the piece.
