One of the techniques Yana showed in Crushing on Cardstock involved using Sunrays with dies. I do not own the dies, so off to Google I go searching for a template. The one I found is one I have used several times from Kristina Werner in 2012. Here is her blog post link with the template to download: https://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/sunshine-rays-card/

My cardstock is SU Regal collection colors. When all of the rays were completed, I used a die cut from Pink Fresh Studio to cut the entire set of rays. I loved the card Yana created in the mini-slimline size, but my rays seemed to need a larger size. This particular die set was gifted to me from someone who doesn’t like the slimline size, so I said I would give the die set a try. It is a fun set with two sizes of the pattern I used here and a few dies with no pattern, which I used for the black piece. The card base is Ivory by Gina K Designs along with the butterflies and greeting.
I added the butterflies from a My Favorite Things set called Spread your Wings. I added color with markers close or the same as the cardstock. I added Nuvo drops rather than sequins. There is also the same shimmer added to the butterfly bodies and a lot of shimmer on the wings.
I enjoyed making this card. I am enjoying what I am learning in the class and will hopefully have time to create more cards with techniques and ideas from the class.
Your rainbow of sunrays is beautiful. The butterflies add just the right touch.
Thank you! I did enjoy the sunrays as they were easy to create with the template. Not sure I would use dies enough for the cost.
Total sunshine.
Thank you!
Love your colorful sunshine card!
Love the rainbow sunrays. This will surely make anyone happy.
This is a beautiful card Lisa! Love your rich rays behind the pretty butterflies. I can definitely see why you chose the slimline and not the mini to show them off.
Thank you! I think the mini was cutting too much off. I enjoyed making this.
Gorgeous sun rays with the added butterflies. Thanks for the link. Your card looks awesome.
Thanks! Yana has a video on her channel recently that is very similar to what she is teaching in the class. She loves her die cuts.
This is awesome Golda. So bright and colourful and the butterflies make it even more special.
