Panda Birthday
Panda Birthday Pop-up

I am proud of this card and spent a lot of today creating it, so I thought I would share. The front is fairly straight forward in how it is made. The inside pop-up feature is the part that took a lot of work. I used a Sizzix die that I have owned for a few years, but can’t remember using it. I know I have cut it out before, but mounting it on the card was a learning process. I realized the panda needed something else with it as there were two other places to pop-up something. I chose balloons and found they needed stability. I used acetate to hold those balloons up, then placed a small piece of white cardstock over the acetate to hide the adhesive (glue dots) and give plenty of stability. Now I have to send this to a special person. I have young nieces and birthdays are approaching, so it will go to one of them.

  1. Love your floating panda on the front of the card and the extra surprise of the pop up one inside.

    1. Thank you! Those pandas are so fun to create with. The pop-up is the funnest part and doesn’t look difficult, but I spent the most time on that part of the card.

  2. So cute and so clever. The pop up is wonderful and I know how much work they are from personal experience. You did a great job on this.

    1. Thanks! It was mailed yesterday to a little girl with a tumor on her brain attached to her spine. I do not know her, but am sure this will bring a smile to her face. I did enjoy making the pop-up. I should do more so I can stop having to relearn how to use the die and learn the new die that I haven’t figured out.
