Hapbee Birthday 2 You

With inspiration from buddy Gayle, I pulled out several bee stamps and ideas began flowing. My card is a bit different for me, as I rarely create cards using several company stamp sets and/or dies.

I started with Paper Smooches stamps. The bee came from Courteous Cuties and the greeting “hapbee birthday” came from More Courteous Cuties. I decided to stamp the bee near the top, so I cut the greeting apart and placed it around the bee. I saw an idea where the hexagon was cut with a number 2 on it, so I used my hexagon dies from The Stamps of Life along with the stamp set minihexagons4backgrounds, where I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. The number 2 is from graduation2celebrate and matching dies, also The Stamps of Life. The word “you” is alphabet stamps from Hero Arts. I felt the card front needed something else, so I began with the stitched rectangle die from The Stamps of Life, but that wasn’t enough as it still looked too plain. Out came the Cuttlebug Hexagon embossing folder. I like the embossing as it looks like a bee hive.

This will also be added to the MISTI challenge at Split Coast Stampers. This month’s challenge is to use numbers and/or alphabet.

I like how the card came out. It was fun creating.

  1. Oh how delightful that one of our buddies inspired you to get wild and combine all these pieces. Very cool that you could persevere till you were HAPBEE!

    1. Thank you! Yes, I own a lot of bee stamps, so my challenge was narrowing down my scope, so it could remain CAS.

  2. Your little bee is darling. The hexagon EF is the perfect touch for a bee card. I’m sure the recipient will get a buzz out of it.

    1. Thanks! It has been a long time since any of these items have been used. Today was the perfect day to create.

  3. I just love the layout and creative way you put your card together. The Hap (bee) was such a fun idea! Thanks for being with us at The Paper Players.

    1. Thank you! It has been a long time since I looked at this challenge. I am glad Gayle posted yesterday as it got my attention and out came the supplies. It was fun to separate the greeting and do something different.

  4. Lisa, this turned out great. So creative with your Hap–bee and the use of the honeycomb and hexagon shape to tie the birthday card together for the challenge. So glad you played in the challenge and that I helped to inspire you to do so. Hugs.

    1. Thanks! I don’t always pay attention to every challenge and totally forget about many. Your card got me thinking and I realized I had a lot of bee stamps that could be clean and simple.

  5. I love this!! it’s so cute. Love how you did the Hap-bee sentiment. I agree it looks like a beehive.

  6. Thanks! It was fun to use ideas and items from many different places. I generally do not mix too much. Maybe one day I will be able to sort stamps by theme rather than company, then I will mix more.
