I began pulling out cardstock and ink colors to match for the CAS Colors & Sketch Challenge #426. I also found the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Anything Goes, so the following card will be entered in both places.

I followed the sketch using the colors Tangerine Tango, Pink Pirouette, and Peach Parfait. All of the cardstock colors were found in the containers inherited by my Mother, but she did not own the inks or markers for each of these colors. I did my best to match the inks and usable markers in other brands.
I used Gina K Designs Birthday Hoot set. I paper pieced the balloons with matching cardstock and colored the birthday hat and owl with markers. I struggle with leaving cardstock plain, so I added texture with embossing folders. I used Lifestyle Crafts Birthday set for the background and flag as it is a 2 folder set. I used the SU Subtle folder for the Tangerine Tango layer behind the owl. If course, the owl had to have googly eyes.
This is a fun card. I send quite a few birthday cards and have no idea who will receive this card.
This is so cute! Great for the color and sketch requirements. Love all that embossed texture!
Thanks! I seem to keep adding texture in any way I can.
Cute!
Super cute card for your challenge. I really like the combination of embossing folders used and of course those googly eyes.
Thanks! It really needed the googly eyes.
Cute card. The embossing folders add nice texture. The googly eyes are perfect for the owl – I can’t imagine him without them.
Got to add those googly eyes! Thanks!!
What Judy said, love the ef and eyes.
Me too!! I love the ef and googly eyes. I think owls need the googly eyes.
Lisa, this is such a fun card!
My girlfriend would love this card. She is so into owls of any kind. Her birthday is close to mine actually. Googly eyes make the owl come alive and I love the textures and colours too,
I love adding googly eyes, especially to this owl. It can make a card cost a bit more to mail, but the recipient loves them. Thanks!
What a cute and fun card, love it!! The owl is so cute with those googly eyes! Thanks so much for joining us this week at CC&S!
Thank you! I love adding google eyes.
