MSC Dragonfly Birthday

The following card was created for the Mod Squad Fly Away challenge.

https://modsquadchallenge.com/fly-away/

I used two Gina K Designs stamp sets in completing this card. The dragonfly is from Theresa Momber’s The Wetlands 2 and the frame is from Melanie Muenchinger’s Fabulous Rose Frame. I followed an idea from Melanie’s blog and YouTube channel. I used my Misti, forgetting to stamp two frames before removing my stamp. I tried lining the stamps up, and was close but not perfect. This is a live and learn process and decided it would work and I could send it. I added a dragonfly to give a bit more dimension to the wings. I enjoyed making the card and my husband likes it.

    1. Thanks Gayle! I struggle leaving a card with no texture, so I added the Woven Embossing Folder for texture and liked it. Good thing as I think this might be the last piece of powder blue cardstock.

  1. Your texture on the blue layer created the perfect backdrop for that 3D dragonfly. Such a great guy birthday but could work for just about any sentiment.

    1. Thanks! I think that is why my husband liked it. He wasn’t sure about adding the black gems in the center, but it needed something and one wasn’t enough, so I went with three. Then the analyzer in him started in about a dragonfly having three body parts, so three gems works fine. (roll eyes)

    1. Thanks Gerry! I appreciate you stopping by and commenting. You make great cards and your comments are always appreciated.

  3. Lisa this is a great card! I love the fun texture on the blue and then the vellum wings for the dragonfly are amazing. It really is a great card for anyone at any time. Even though you followed what someone else did, you did it and you made it yours.

  4. This is a beautiful card Lisa. The layers are wonderful and how you added dimension with the dragonfly is great too. That stamp set is lovely and I am glad I have it in my stash.
