December Monthly Mix Challenge

December Monthly Mix Challenge – Gina K Designs

I was debating about playing along with the December Monthly Mix Challenge hosted by Karen at Gina K Designs. The challenge is a Tic Tac Toe one and I wasn’t sure I liked any of these combinations

but finally decided on Vellum, Square and Emboss Resist. My square element is the side fold card which features the focal portion of the card as a square. This section was layered with some GKD patterned paper which was heat embossed in white and silver embossing powder then inked with Applemint and Turquoise Sea inks. The stamps were from Gina’s Celebration Diva stamp set. Then using a piece of vellum I heat embossed a sentiment from Sparkling Christmas in silver and stamped the champagne flutes from Gina’s Cheers stamp set in gold. I decided to stamp, color and fussy the Celebration Diva and add to the side panel instead of adding twine.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek.

    1. Thanks, Jan, I just couldn’t wrap my head around Karen’s Tic Tac Toe but I decided to do some New Year’s card and thought this one turned out to be a fun one.

    1. Thanks, Lisa, the patterned paper was very subtle and not the right color but I think the embossing and inking helped it along for my colors.

    1. Thanks, Lisa, I think maybe this Diva won’t have anywhere to go but on my card this year. LOL.. Thanks for commenting.

  1. You really nailed that challenge. Fantastic New Years card. Love how you placed Miss Diva on the side panel. This looks like a winner to me.

  2. You nailed this challenge and then some. Fabulous card Gayle. You sure made the pp work for this and that Diva is just perfect on the side.
