JOY Christmas

I have been playing with a new Spellbinders die and made a Christmas card. This will be entered in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

I saw this idea on Pinterest and followed the colors and placement of the flowers, holly leaves, pine leaves, and berries. I am not sure if I will make many as this is a time consuming process. It does make a lovely card.

  1. Beautiful card. I like the JOY die. Maybe you could mask the word and instead of cutting and gluing all the greenery around it, mask JOY and stamp greenery around it, remove the mask and add the red flowers. It would still be a bit time consuming though.

    1. The background is all one piece and the smaller pieces are smaller dies. The detailed letters are separate dies. I will think on your idea. There are many other examples where the designer didn’t use this many colors. Thanks for the ideas!

    1. They are gorgeous and make us spend that money. This was my first use and I am pleased, but it took quite a while. It does make a pretty card, so the time may be worth it. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. This is gorgeous! I can see where this would take a lot of time to cut and assemble, but it is certainly worth the effort as it looks great. Love all the festive colors for your flowers, greenery and berries, and the sparkle is awesome.

  3. This die is gorgeous as is your card. Dies with all these pieces are fun to put together but can definitely understand not wanting to make a lot of them. Love the card.

  4. Lisa, this is a beautiful card! I can see why it was time consuming, but the different colors you used in it give it depth and impact. Great job on it. Hopefully, whoever receives it will notice all the work you put into it and feel loved that you gave it to them.

    1. Thanks! I may try a kind of Judy’s idea as the word has to be die cut either with just the letters or the entire die. I will think on an alternate, as I do like her idea of having the word with the colorful pieces surrounding it.

  5. Stunningly beautiful card Lisa. I just love it but understand why you may only make one or two. It was the same with the one I did earlier with the photo behind the door – I managed 6 but after that I was done. All your hard work on this one has paid off though. Gorgeous.
