I have been busy with a few challenges with Splitcoast Stampers that were focused on pine trees and pine cones. I submitted these to the Double D Challenge from the posts at SCS. I thought I would share these here.

I linked those photos to my gallery at SCS. The Peace card was created for a Faith challenge and I shared a quite a bit about the photo at that link. The Thanksgiving card was created with all Stamps of Life products. The paper is Gina K and SU along with the inks used on the pinecone.
Following are a few other photos that I made recently. We had a birthday, I worked on a Christmas card, and a card with dogs for a young man.

This card is my husband’s birthday card. He really liked it as it is all about guitars. These are acoustic and are not usually colored, but I needed the spread of color and it worked. All were fussy cut.

I have new product that I wanted to play with. This is a Spellbinders die and stamp set. I followed an idea on the Spellbinders blog using supplies that I had on hand. I didn’t have silver foil paper, so I made my own. I took a small piece of gray cardstock, swiped Versamark ink, then silver embossing powder. I used two layers of the ink and embossing powder to make it thick and look more silvery. It is not as shiny as foil, but for giving this idea try, I think it works. Since then, I purchased silver foil. I will try this card again soon. I pulled the colored paper for the ornaments from my large stash of scraps.

This doggy card went to a 7 year old boy who had a surgery then got an infection which went septic. His aunt requested a card and he loves dogs, so I got busy with my doggy stamps and dies. The outside part is from a Stephanie Bernard/Sizzix set. It is retired but Stephanie is selling the Sizzix product still remaining in her warehouse on Amazon and the price was right, so I picked it up. I think every piece of this card came from my large scrap pile. That makes me happy to find uses for the pieces in that never ending pile.
Thanks for reading this long post. These were not made in the same day, but over one to two weeks.
Lisa, these are wonderful. Such a sweet dog card for the young boy and I’m sure it cheered him up. Love the ornaments and Happy Birthday to your husband and all your fussy cutting. Your hiking scene turned out great and I love the pinecone Thanksgiving card is fantastic. Love that background. Off to Splitcoaststampers for more info. Awesome group of cards.
Thanks Gayle! It seems that I participate in more of those challenges as they are in the same place and I don’t have to keep up with looking all over the place. It takes me a while to remember to post here so you can all see.
What a great bunch of cards. I love the glittery ornaments. The dog card is cute and perfect for a youngster.
Thanks Judy! The ornaments are fun to create with. I plan to try more ideas soon. I did love creating the dog card. I seem to have quite a few dog sets and dies.
You have been busy. I kind of rather like the silver the way you made it.
Thanks! I had to be resourceful and this worked.
Wow! Nice cards! Wish I had your ambition!
Thanks Diana, These were spread out over several days or even a week or so. I am not stamping today, though, as I have been cleaning up the kitchen and doing a bit of laundry.
Fantastic bunch of cards and I like them all. I especially like the one you did for your hubby – thought that one was great and I also liked the ornament card too. How nice of you to create a card for a sick child. I’m sure it cheered him up and I hope he is getting better.
Thanks! My husband does enjoy this card. Usually he stands them up, but so far hasn’t. The ornament one is fun. I need to make more when I can get to it.
These all look great! I love that background die cut on your Thanksgiving card, and your shiny Christmas ornaments look amazing!! I really like your matching color splotches of the background on your birthday card with the guitars, and your dog card is adorable. Love your outdoor scene as well.
Thank you! It was fun creating.
Oh my gosh Lisa, these are all fantastic. You have been one busy lady.
Thanks Gerry! They are not all done in one sitting or even the same week. I am not great at posting to the blog in a timely manner.
Lisa, these are all such fun and beautiful cards! It looks like you’ve been having some fun creating, recently. The background die on your Thanksgiving card is amazing.
Thanks! I so like the Thanksgiving card with that background die. I am looking forward to using it over and over again.
