Birthday On Point

I created a slimline card on Saturday.

http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2020/07/just-us-girls-challenge-544-trend-week.html

Stamp set used are Sizzix Free Hugs — Cactus Set and dies, and Lawn Fawn Year Ten. I used two stencils from SU, Brick and Clouds, all ink blended. The inspiration for this layout was from the Lawn Fawn blog using cactus from the new Simply Summer stamp set. I own a few cactus sets, so the Sizzix one was the one I chose to use for this card. This card was posted at Split Coast Stampers as part of the inspiration challenge and MISTI challenge: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2995060?&cat=500&ppuser=301308

Slimline cards are the newest trend I have seen in the paper crafting world, with dies from many manufacturers. This card was all cut using my paper trimmer. So far, that is working for me. This is the second one I have made with in the last week.

  1. I love it! – but then cactus are very popular in AZ! We have some of these different types in our yard!

    1. I thought of you when making this card. Your cactus photos are so beautiful with the flowers. Thanks!

  2. What great design and perfect for a slimline. Love the cacti. I miss being able to hug my friends, so I think I’d even welcome a hug from a cactus. With that sweet smile she wouldn’t stick me too bad.

    1. Yes, hugging is difficult these days. Maybe a virtual hug or a wave is as close as it gets. Thanks!

  3. You’re doing a great job with the slimline style, Lisa. I love this one and your wonderful stenciled background. Great job on this.
I have to say, there are a few friends I’ve gone ahead and hugged. I know we’re all being careful as we all have health issues and we’re masked up.
Judy, you would definitely regret hugging a cactus! Though the feeling of the “hug” would last a long, painful time.

  4. This is great Lisa. Those cactus work so well for the brilliant card design. Beautiful colouring too.

  5. Super fun card! Being from Arizona I am partial to those cacti 🙂 – Thanks for joining in at JUGS

    1. Thank you! These images always make the Arizonians happy. I can’t grow these in MO, but I find them beautiful when I see photos of the cactus flowering.
