Beautiful Butterflies is the name of the June Kit from Simon Says Stamp. The butterflies are beautiful and such fun to color. This is a case of Suzy Plantamura’s card. I colored the butterflies with Prismas: PC918 Orange; PC939 Peach; PC1096 Kelly Green; PC1038 Neon Pink; PC993 Hot Pink; PC942 Yellow Ochre. I used the same pattern paper Suzy used. Instead of black gingham ribbon (which I didn’t have) I cut a ¾” strip of black cardstock and embossed the sentiment from the kit in white. I affixed the PP together and added the black strip before adhering to my card base. All of a sudden I noticed the butterflies in the PP were flying upside down. I was able to very gently remove the sentiment strip and flip the panel so the green dotted paper was on top. After adhering it to the card base, whoops – the panel was crooked. I very carefully removed it and was able to even it up by trimming a sliver with my Tim Holtz trimmer. Got a little glue under the plastic guard, but was able to clean that. Glad I was using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive – it is really forgiving. In spite of all the bloopers that happened I’m really pleased with the result.

You should be pleased as this is a charming and pretty card. You are right that those butterflies are beautiful and your colouring makes them perfect. I did chuckle at your bloopers – we’ve all done exactly that same thing on occasion. You know this fits the challenge at Sisterhood of Crafters don’t you? You have a few hours still to add it the challenge from what I can determine.
Thanks Johanna. I didn’t know of any challenges it fit, I just did it for fun, but I’ll go check out the Sisterhood.
How funny that you even noticed the butterflies upside down. Great you could get everything arranged. I will have to get some of that glue.
Thanks Bonnie. Luckily I hadn’t pressed things down so still had some wiggle room. The Nuvo glue comes in a bottle and is easier for me to squeeze than the Connect glue.
This is lovely! Looks like a nice kit, if it looks like this card.
Thanks Lisa. It is a nice kit and the pattern paper made me look at some of my other pattern paper packs to see how I could use all the ones I’ve been hoarding.
This came out great! You’d never know it was assembled, and re-assembled, and re-assembled… Lucky you noticed the mistake before the glue set. I love the sentiment strip and how your colors all go together so nicely. Great card!
Thanks Lisa. I love the way elements in Simon’s kits are all coordinated.
What a BEAUTIFUL butterfly card! LOVE those papers and your coloring on the butterflies is perfect! Nicely done! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Sisterhood of Crafters challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.

Judy, it is great! Glad the “bloopers” were fixable. It’s always frustrating when something like that happens.
Thanks Golda. I was glad it was fixable too because I spent a lot of time on this card besides all the fixes.
Beautiful card and glad you were able to save your patterned panel piece. I was debating about that gorgeous SSS set but opted out of it….probably should get it after looking at your card.
Thanks Gayle. Some how the set just called out to me. Not that I didn’t already have a jillion butterfly stamps, but these are really beauties and fun to color.
Great card Judy. I especially like the beautiful large butterfly. All those bloopers didn’t matter in the end.
Thanks Gerry. No the bloopers didn’t matter in the end,but I’m sure everyone can relate to the frustration when they happen. I was just happy I could salvage it.
