Flamingo, layers and Lace

More challenges for Virtual Stamp Night. Saturday challenges took of at 12 EST. I made samples for three of the ones posted today. The challenges are ongoing today and there will be a total of 10 new ones today.

First up is Dress up a Flamingo. I chose a flamingo from The Stamps of Life. She got her clothing from the penguin. I enjoyed creating this flamingo card.

Next is Layers. When styling in the fashion world, sometimes layers add to the outfit. I used a sketch from Dawn Griffith #238. I love her sketches as they tell exactly what size to cut the paper and die cuts. The sketch made the time used 45 minutes on this card. Everything is Stampin Up. Hippest Hippos is the stamp set used and Lovely Lipstick is the cardstock and patterned paper color.

The last one I am sharing right now is Ladies and Lace. I used Uptown Girls from Art Impressions. I colored as fast as I could using colored pencils and gamsol.

My challenge is coming up in 20 minutes. I hope to be back later to share more challenge samples. Thanks for reading and seeing what I am up to.

Challenge C Tuxedo Fold

There is a tutorial for a tuxedo fold on SCS. I followed it to the letter.

I used SU gray colors and white for the shirt. I had gray gems from Hobby Lobby and made my buttons. I had a punch to create the bow tie. I have no plans for this card. No one in my life is getting married or has any reason to need a tux.

VSN Challenge B is up

Challenge B is all about the Little Black Dress. I chose to actually create a card with a black dress.

The embossing folder is SU retired as well as the dress form. I found rhinestones to add a bit of jewelry to the dress form. The dress is cut from black glitter paper. I need a stylish reason to actually use this card.

December Virtual Stamp Night A

The first challenge is up on Splitcoast Stampers for Virtual Stamp Night. It is all about Ugly Sweaters.

This mouse is adorable in his sweater. The mouse is from Stampin Up as well as the paper and embossing folder. The reindeer image and banner are from Bo Bunny Joyful Christmas. Yes, this was made in one hour. I think it took the whole time.

CAS GIFTS

I took a break from other things and made a simple card recently. I like the CAS Colours & Sketch challenge. They are celebrating their 500 challenge.

I am using Challenge #475 colors of Tatian Tide, Parakeet Party, and Sweet Sorbet. I used Lawn Fawn Simply Celebrate Winter for the gifts and Simply Winter Sentiments for all of my stamping. I used the MISTI and moved my paper up and down the platform using the grid paper to move it three spaces with each border.

Give Thanks Wreath

I have been creating with the colors Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow, and Mango Melody for the color challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I chose to make a wreath which fits right in with Double Trouble Paper Crafting challenge.

In addition to the colors I listed above, I used Soft Suede for the card base as well as the greeting. The stamps and dies were created with SU Arrange a Wreath stamp and die set. I used a retired SU embossing folder in the background. The gold paper is from my stash. I used a gold sharpie marker to color clear gems for the flower centers.

With this challenge, Thing1 said to use a circle or circular element, so my wreath is the circle. Thing3 said to use a fall or Halloween theme, so I chose fall. I missed Thing2 because I placed my greeting in the wrong place. If I had placed it in the center of the wreath, it would have worked. It is still a fun challenge and I enjoyed creating the wreath card.

Thanks for stopping by.

The 90’s!

Do you remember the 90’s? Life was busy in the 90’s. I took a trip with my childhood friend to Florida, bought my first car, got married, had children and several pets, bought a house and worked at my job. I am sure there were more things that happened in the 90’s, but those are highlights. You are wondering why I am taking a trip down memory lane…Well, I am the guest designer for the Retro Rubber Challenge and the theme is the 90’s!

You see it is a color challenge, so dig out those retro colors and give this challenge a try!

I chose Mimi going Extreme with her snowboarding. The stamp set is named Extreme Mimi. She is a wood block stamp with a date of 2012. The embossed background is from Stampin Up Scattered Sequins; it reminds me of snowflakes. I used Gina K/Thermoweb Stitched Ovals dies. To color Mimi, many waterbased markers came out of hiding: Island Indigo, Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock, Baked Brown Sugar, Ruby Red, Terracotta Tile (all retired), then I used alcohol markers for her face: Spectrum Noir FS2 with SU Light Pink Pirouette for the cheeks. The snow was colored with Copic BG70 and I outlined her with BG10. The waterbased markers were blended with a Tombow blender pen.

It was fun to bring the retro image back to life. I enjoyed finding the various colors to fit the challenge. Come join me and create a retro card!

Shepherds in the Field

I am getting into Christmas card making mode and used the colors from the As You See It Challenge for the inspiration.

I used the stamp set Every Blessing from Stampin Up, issued in 2015. I have used it each year since I purchased it. The colors used are Starry Sky in ink and cardstock, Mango Melody, which I used Sweet Mango from Gina K Designs for the substitute, and Parakeet Party. I laid the card on Parakeet Party for the photo. The black cardstock is My Favorite Things with Gina K Designs Black Onyx ink.

I really enjoyed blending these colors together. I was inspired by the DT Heather Cooper on the As You See It Challenge. I liked how her blended background looked so I gave it a try. Mine looks quite different from hers.

Thanks for sharing in my card. I enjoyed stopping my busy life and creating.

Pumpkins and Cat card

A few weeks ago, I stamped several images. Recently I colored a a fun image with stacked pumpkins and a cat.

This is the Feeling Fall image from Power Poppy. I colored it with alcohol markers and cut it out with ovals from Gina K Designs. The card base is Coral Reef from GKD with a layer of Turquoise Sea, and a strip of Slate. The pumpkins on the Turquoise Sea layer are from GKD Autumn Wreath Builder also the smaller ones are from SU Halloween Scares. The cat images and the splatter on the Slate strip are from the same SU set.

The Power Poppy challenge is to use an image with fruit or vegetables. I chose fruit as pumpkins are a fruit due to the seeds.

The Crafting Happiness challenge is all about Halloween. This image definitely fits the Halloween vibe.

The Four Seasons Challenge is to use anything about October. Pumpkins are definitely part of October.

The Double D Challenge is also anything to do with October. I saw pumpkins on the mood board.

I left the greeting off of the front as it would be too busy. I placed it inside. Thanks for sharing the time with me today to view my card.
