With the current Mod Squad Challenge being pumpkins and the Double D Challenge being wreaths, I decided to combine the two. Using my MISTI made this fit a third challenge at Split Coast Stampers.
I love Susie Moore’s work and found a card she created for a blog hop a few years ago, using the GKD Autumn Wreath Builder stamp and stencil set, so I followed her design. I added acorns to my wreath where she had leaves, but she added shading to her pumpkins with alcohol markers. I have never added marker shading to inked images, so this was fun to try. I used GKD inks and Memento Rich Cocoa for the stamping. The cardstock is GKD Heavy Base White and SU Tangerine Twist. I am pretty low on other orange colored cardstock and there is 2 reams of this retired color, so it is being used heavily. The greeting is from Power Poppy Feeling Fall set which is retired, but you can find several of the images in digital form.
It has been quite a while since I made a tag, much less used it on a card. This week’s Mod Squad Challenge is to make a tag. Simon Says Stamp as two challenges that interest me as well.
I started with the wagon and then added the pumpkin. I used Wheelie Full Wagon from Maymay Made It stamp set for all of the stamping. I didn’t have a tag die that fit the wagon, so I cut my own. Then I decided it needed something else, and I found a scrap of orange cardstock that matched the pumpkin and patterned paper well, so I cut another tag. I found twine and ribbon in my stash, so it went for tag embellishment. This was my World Cardmaking Day card and I enjoyed stamping and coloring.
I am entering this in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes challenge, as well as Simon Says Stamp World Cardmaking Day challenge.
I enjoyed having something new to color during the thunderstorm earlier in the week. I often have to hang out with the dog, so I colored and watched video.
This is my first entry to the Newton’s Nook Inky Paws challenge. This digi was fun to color! I used Copic and Spectrum Noir markers. The cardstock is all Gina K Designs. I found a sketch to follow on Pinterest, but do not remember whose it was. The embossing folder is a Lifestyle Crafts Lattice one. I used GKD/Thermoweb stitched oval dies for the pumpkin and shadow layer. I like the card! I can see mailing this to someone.
I found another challenge which this card fits perfectly. Send a Smile 4 Kids has a make a fall or Halloween cards for kids, which are not scary. My card is fun and not scary, so I am linking it to their challenge.
Having fun with a new Gerda Steiner Designs stamp.
I used a Darice embossing folder for the tree. It is cut from SU Chocolate Chip cardstock, with the leaves colored with several markers laying close. I used Celebrate Autumn from Echo Park for the paper piecing. The bear is colored with various alcohol markers. This was fun to create. It has been quite a while since I paper pieced. I will post this to Gerda Steiner Designs challenge for September.
