Kitty Hello

This card is using the sketch from CAS Colors and Sketches and a stamp from Paper Smooches.

The patterned paper is from The Stamps of Life. The cardstock is My Favorite Things and The Stamps of Life. I used the Happy Hellos set from Paper Smooches for the kitty, and the hearts are from So Lovely, also PS. I enjoyed using this sketch. I always love the Anything Goes challenges which is the current theme for Paper Smooches.

Hello, Happy Birthday

This card was created during Day 13 of the Online Card Class Spring Card Camp.

https://papersmooches.blogspot.com/2020/04/april-15-28-happy-challenge.html

I used the Hello die cut from the previous card where it was cut from the card front. In the class, the presenter had a shadow die for her statement. I do not have a shadow die for the Lawn Fawn die I used, so I cut my own with scissors. I added another greeting from the Paper Smooches Happy Hellos stamp set. I thought this paper would be a pretty birthday card. The patterned is from an Echo Park paper pack. This was fun to create and it looks like a happy card.

Bee, Candles, Balloons, Butterflies

I have been busy today creating cards for challenges and a featured stamper. All were posted at Split Coast Stampers. I wanted to share them with my buddies on this blog.

Butterfly Bookmark

This bookmark was created with the current Paper Smooches Animals challenge, as well as the Mod Squad Challenge. I used a Paper Smooches set called Flap Happy, colored with Copic markers. I enhanced the butterflies with a white gel pen. The scallop top was created with a retired SU punch.

Balloon Birthday
Birthday Candles

The above two cards were based on a card by the featured stamper at Split Coast Stampers, Sheri Gilson. I have admired her work for several years and have used her work for inspiration. Here is the card I used for inspiration: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2968448?&cat=500&ppuser=73093&perpage=96&thumbsonly=0

Lawn Fawn stamps were used. For both cards I used Simply Celebrate and Wavy Sayings. I made two as I had the supplies out and couldn’t decide which single stamp to use. The candle piece of patterned paper is from My Favorite Things. I used two pieces from the pack for color inspiration.

Just BeeCause

This last card was created with the inspiration of Ellen Hutson’s blog. There is a post by Gina K Design where she used the wreath builder and Ellen Hutson stamps. I got inspired to use other stamps and make a wreath. I chose a bee from Flap Happy, a Paper Smooches stamp. This was also posted to the current challenge of Animals at their blog.

I had a fun day of creating. We had rain when I woke up, then snow, now it is just cold. Crazy weather for March as it should be windy. I had to be inside and I was inspired. Thanks for reading the long post.

Record Birthday

Following is a birthday card for my brother, who is turning 61. This is not a record birthday, but I chose records and music for his card. This is using colors and stamps for the current Paper Smooches challenge.

https://papersmooches.blogspot.com/2020/02/february-challenge-2-color-story.html

The main stamp set used is Be Boppin from Paper Smooches. The words “happy birthday” are from SU Paper Pumpkin, and the snare drum is a Paper Trey Ink stamp. The record from the front is a MFT die. All paper is SU. The inks are various colors from GKD, Memento, and Lawn Fawn.

I chose the snare drum as my brother played a drum in high school and continues to play to this day. He listened to a lot of records, so the records fit. He used to sing so I added the notes. Being an artist, paint and drawing, the various colors work well. I always love finding an idea that fits the personality of the recipient.

This card will also be entered in the Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog: http://sweetstampinchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2020/02/birthday-boys.html

What’s the Buzz

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2020/01/challenge-353-sketch.htmlhttps://papersmooches.blogspot.com/2020/01/january-2020-anything-goes-challenge.html

Love when a design will work for more than one challenge. I chose Paper Smooches stamps as I have not used them in a while and it was time to stamp with them once again. The CAS sketch worked perfectly for my idea.

I used Paper Smooches Courteous Cuties and Courteous Cuties 2 for my stamping. I colored the bee with Spectrum Noir CT1, 2, and 3 markers, and Copic CG1 and 0 for the wings. I added sparkle with a gel pen. I used GKD/Thermoweb stitched dies to cut out my rectangle. I used Cuttlebug Honeycomb embossing folder to add a bit of texture to the background. My yellow patterned paper is Lawn Fawn Knock on Wood paper pack. I felt my rectangle image was a bit unbalanced, so I added gemstones from The Paper Studio. Thanks for looking.

Christmas Dove

I have another card for the October Paper Smooches challenge: https://papersmooches.blogspot.com/2019/09/october-2019-ps-dt-inspiration-challenge.html

Christmas Dove

I used Michele Boyer’s card style for inspiration. She loves white space. I basically copied a card, but changed the greeting. Stamp sets used are Christmas Sampler and A Blessed Christmas. Here is a link showing the inspiration card: https://papercuts.splitcoaststampers.com/2018/11/19/joy-to-the-world-paper-smooches/

Retro Rubber Challenge #121

I have a card made with older supplies for the Retro Rubber Challenge.

https://www.retrorubberchallengeblog.com/my-blog/2019/10/challenge-121-tic-tac-toe.html

I used Chubby Chums from Paper Smooches, which was released in 2013. I used the Sizzix Circle #2 Flip-it Die set, which I have had for at least three years. The patterned paper used is a pack from Hobby Lobby, sitting in my stash for at least 10 years. I pull it out when I need a baby card. I followed the first column on the tic-tac-toe grid: pastel colors, baby, die cut or punch.

Camellia One in a Million

Camellia

This card is for two challenges, Power Poppy and Paper Smooches.

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2019/05/creative-confetti-simply-resistible.html

https://papersmooches.blogspot.com/2019/04/may-2019-flowers-challenge.html

The Power Poppy challenge is all about emboss resist. I chose to place my flowers around the border. They are watercolored with pink toned Stampin’Up markers and a water brush.

The Paper Smooches challenge is to use flowers on your card. I chose to use the Kindness Sampler set for my greeting.
