Friend Leaves

Odd title…I think I am sorry a friend is leaving. That is not what this is about. This card is all about leaves that are falling in our yards this time of year. Our leaves have not turned color, yet, but some are falling.

I posted a card yesterday using leaves cut from backgrounds I made with the Polished Stone Technique. I had several leaves cut, so today I was inspired to continue creating with these leaves. I used Crumb Cake cardstock for the base and embossed layer. The background was embossed with the Darice Fall Leaves Swirl EF. The leaves are from the Gina K Designs Stitches Leaves stamp set with matching dies. I embossed the leaves with gold embossing powder. I chose the Hello Friend greeting from a Paper Pumpkin July 2019 kit called On My Mind. I added gold foil to the greeting and embossed layer, which I think really helped bring all of the gold together.

I enjoyed creating this card. I was wanting to continue using those leaves and this came together so easily. This card will also be added to the Double Trouble Paper Crafting use a die or punch. This card uses only dies for this challenge so I posted Thing 1’s badge.

Wonderful Friend

Day 5 of Camp Create is all about die cutting. I chose to use the MFT stamp set, Sending Sunshine with matching dies for my card.

I searched Pinterest for ideas with this stamp set. I saw so many ideas and after a while they jumbled together in my mind, so I can’t give credit to any one designer for using her work. I paper pieced the girl’s clothing. I used a Carta Bella paper pad from a prior year. The background paper came from the same pack. I enjoyed coloring today. All images were colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

Following is the final badge for participating in each challenge.

Thank you for spending time with me this week. Now I will take a few days off and figure out what I will choose for my Faith based card which I really should have ready to post on the 7th. Following I need to get into birthday mode as birthdays are quickly coming in my household and I have done nothing to prepare much less make gift suggestions.

MSC Hello Friend

The current challenge at Mod Squad is to keep your card with a simple focus, one image and no embellishments, or the card will be removed. I took this challenge and it was not as easy as it sounded.

KODAK Digital Still Camera

This card was created using the set Friendship Blooms with was a collaboration of Hero Arts and Gina K Designs. I colored the images with Prismacolor Pencils and used Stampin’Up Crumb Cake cardstock. I heat embossed with GKD Detail White embossing powder.

I found this challenging as I wanted to add glitter to the flowers and possibly gems to draw the eye down the page better. But I left it alone.

Before this card I had worked on another card. This didn’t make the cut for the challenge.

KODAK Digital Still Camera

After I finished coloring this image, I thought it needed something else, so I added clear sparkle to the flowers. Then I added gems. So, I was ready to post and read the directions again and this one didn’t make the cut. I totally love the card and mailed it, so someone will be able to enjoy it and hopefully it will bring a smile to her face when she opens it.

You are the Sweetest

Simon Says Stamp has a Stamptember set for Avery Elle. I own a few of their stamps, a lot of patterned paper, and storage envelopes. I had to participate in their Stamptember card Avery Elle link-up. It will also be placed in the Wednesday, Anything Goes challenge: https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-anything-goes-66/

This card will also be placed in the Mod Squad Challenge for this week to create a thoughtful card for somebody. http://modsquadchallenge.com/a-time-for-giving/

Sweetest

This stamp set is called Sweetest. I love the ice cream and Popsicle especially with a face. Each treat was colored with Copic markers. I added sparkle with a clear sparkle pen, then coated the cream and colored popsicle part with Glossy Accents. The stage they are standing on is a Sizzix/Stephanie Bernard embossing folder called Dots.
