Under the Weather

A CAS card with just an extra bit of overlapping layer for my card today. After finding this red rubber mounted Penny Black stamp (4169K) Get Well Soon stamp in my stash, I inked it in Taylored Expressions Cookie Monster ink, cut some My Favorite Things Cloud Die-namics dies from cardstock and one from glitter paper and then inked, added a small side panel to my card base and this card is completed. I did find this idea from Penny Black for this design.

My card today will be shared with

Penguin Gardener

April Showers!! are happening almost every other day lately so I found this “cute to me” old red rubber mounted stamp from Designs Unlimited named Penguin Gardener. I remember finding this stamp at a local stamp show and I got it on a discount because of a small defect with the flower stem. No problem I just die cut that part off! LOL. After stamping and coloring the image, I used a raindrop stencil from our Buddy Bonnie to add those big rain drops and located a piece of cardstock that seemed to mimic the colors and rain spatters and mounted to a piece of black cardstock. Sentiment is from an older Gina K Designs stamp set by Theresa Momber Up and Away.

My card today will be shared with:

2 Baby Showers

Hello and welcome. Recently my granddaughter asked me to make 2 baby shower cards. She bought baby bathtubs and filled them with bath time supplies. She sent me pictures of how she packed them so I could see the color schemes and patterns.

The first one is a shaped card from the Silhouette. Patterned paper was found online, The yellow cs straps were run through a striped ef. For the buttons and top trim, I fussy cut rainbows from the pp and added Wink of Stella. The second one is 5 x 5 square. Again, pp was found online, and the elephant towel is clip art, cover photo of the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See was also found online. Footprints are a small hand punch. She loved both of them.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Id Please

Hello and welcome. Time again for dos’s chuckle. I found the quote on Pinterest. Background paper was found online, ovals are stitched ovals by Die-namics. Below is the full quote.

“Last night I ordered a glass of wine with my dinner, the waiter asked for my ID. I replied “do I look that young?” The waiter said “No, I just wanted to see if you qualified for the Senior Citizen discount.”

peach and green

I found a large box of various pieces ready to made into cards.
The iris from Stately Flowers 8 by GKD, is colored with Copics: YR02, YR01, YR00,
YR0000, Y35, YG63, G21. I used the Palm Frond stencil by Honeybee to emboss the
background with a rubber mat, then lightly swiped green over the raised areas –
the green shows more IRL The sentiment, Tiny Sentiment Wishing by Altenew is
cut in Grass Green. The sentiment in the strip along the bottom reads “you the
happiest of birthdays”. You is a separate stamp and I had difficulty lining it
up with the rest of the sentiment but I was pleased with the final result. I used
Master Layouts 2 to cut the black mat. I decided a Peach Bellini card base matched
the coloring on the iris best. I’m entering this in Color Hues 84 – Peach and Green and Word Power #4

BasketBall Birthday

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our middle great-grandson. He loves playing basketball.

Background paper was found online. Circles were cut on the Silhouette and the center one was run through a Cuttlebug ef. The basketball is computer clip art and I added the 15 before printing it, then backed it with another circle and popped it up. I used a Stampin Up punch for the ball.

Take A Break

Taking inspiration from Buddy Gerry’s recent rocker card, I decided to give it a go. My teeny rocker card uses the largest circle dies in my stash with a computer generated sentiment and Stamabilities Happy Hoppers House Mouse stamp “Relaxing Bubbles” After using some colored pencils to color in my bunny and tub and bubbles, I added Glossy Accents to the bubbles.

I’ll be sharing my rocker card today with:

Cardz 4 Galz Challenge #222 – Cute Animals

This is going in the mail tomorrow for a friend who needs to be reminded that she deserves a break and hopefully will take one. I appreciate you and your time. After days of rain, there was a magnitude 4.8 earthquake about 40 miles aways from our home. Shook our house and make quite a noise and it was very strange for our area. Tomorrow we will have military helicopters practicing at our local airport so that should be very interesting to see. I may just stay in my “elf room” for the weekend. Thanks for stopping in for a peek.

Rising hand

Hello and welcome. I tried to load this to the Two Old Bats Halloween challenge but I had a problem and couldn’t get it on there.

Black cover and border are from the Silhouette, corner bats are from a Tim Holtz Halloween die set. Border is popped up. The moon background was found on Google Halloween moon clip art. Card base is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4, overlay is 4 3/4 x 4 3/4. I’ll be making my own envelope for this one. You can now say you’ve seen green bats. lol

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

I finally got this entered at https://twooldbatshalloweenchallenge.blogspot.com/2024/04/april-2024-anything-goes-halloween.html

No Fooling!!

We made it to April and Spring and the blooms are popping and no fooling that I am a guest designer for Triple B Birds, Butterflies and Blooms April challenge. Panic was my first reaction but Darlene and our Bonnie calmed me down and this is my card for the challenge. Not an April Fools joke!

I decided on Colorado Craft Company’s Pretty Little Lines Daffodil Mice stamp set and I opted for the tulip stem and this little mouse for my card. Lightly colored with markers from my stash and a little Wink of Stella for some shine was added.  The background was ink blended using Taylored Expressions Pretty Petals stencil and added a few Martha Stewart punch butterflies for good measure.

Hope you all can play along with this challenge.
