Chilling Joy

Taking some inspiration from Buddy Gerry’s recent black and white card, I decided to go that route too. So my background is a little “chilling”for Christmas. The patterned paper is from Whimsy Chilling Christmas patterned paper pack. Not really sure if I like this pack or not…..it is a little dark but I’ll keep working at it. The die cut letters are Taylored Expressions Folk Joy die. I did try adding a red “O” to the card but that definitely didn’t work for me so black and white it is.

My card today will be shared with: Word Power #11 Challenge

I was very surprised that my BOO card was the Top Winner in Word Power’s Challenge #10. I was thrilled and honored.

No List? It’s Socks

My warning to my children and grandchildren is usually if I don’t receive a list it’s socks and underwear for them under the Christmas tree. This Unity Stamp Co’s Hold on Santa stamp and sentiment was a perfect set for me to use. The background was made using SimonSaysStamps Poinsettia background stamp in Gina K Designs Cherry Red ink. Each panel was layered with red cardstock.

Google Eyed Turkey

Hello and welcome. This card is for one of our granddaughter’s family. I thought their 3 year old would like the goofy looking turkey.

Turkey is from the Silhouette, labels are no name stitched dies, background ef is from The Paper Studio. Sentiment was printed in my Hallmark card program. Of course googly eyes are perfect for goofy looking turkey. I lightly sponged the edges of the feathers. While I was making this, I kept thinking this will be really stupid, but once it was done I thought it was okay.

No Brain

Hello and welcome. Time again for D-O-S’s chuckle card.

The sentiment “As a kid, I used to watch The Wizard Of Oz and wonder how someone could talk if they didn’t have a brain. Then I got social media.” was found on Pinterest. D-O-S agrees. For background paper I Googled Wizard Of Oz background paper. Dies used are a no name from Amazon. This was way to quick and easy to make.

Black & White Christmas

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is a CASE of one I saw on Pinterest, by Mary Wildi.

Background paper was found online, trees and reindeer are from the Silhouette. I added Wink of Stella to the trees for a little sparkle. Sentiment was printed in my Hallmark card program. To get the little stars background for the sentiment I Googled Christmas stars background paper. Sentiment labels dies are Rectangle Stitched Framelits by Stampin Up. Hubby really likes this one.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Comments are greatly appreciated. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Stack, Cut and Shuffle

Three pieces of patterned paper, stacked together, cut apart and shuffled so a different pattern is on all three cards. Thanks to Lisa Freeman, SU and her recent YouTube video for this idea. After assembling the background, I stamped and colored the bird from Gina K Designs Vintage Summer card kit. Patterned paper is also a GKD product.

Fall Birthday

The final friend 70th birthday is this upcoming week so I thought it would be appropriate to include leaves on her card. A leaf die cut was used as my stencil for my background layer and then used the same inks to ink blend another piece of cardstock to cut out the leaf die. Vellum is sandwiched inbetween the layers to soften the look. Some gold cord and a Taylored Expressions sentiment stamp and die as well as their postage stamp dies were used to complete my card.

Leaves have peaked in my neighborhood and have started falling and I do believe that all of the neighborhood leaves have blown to our yard. Let the clean up begin! Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take card and stay safe.

Printed Pumpkin

A little different look for me and it’s just OK. The designer card I CASEd from Whimsy Stamps looked so much better. I am loving Whimsy Stamps and their designer paper packs. Using a Recollections pumpkin die, I die cut my scene from the Pink Autumn paper pad, patterned paper from my stash that was embossed with a leaf background embossing folder and sentiment from a SSS stamp set with the addition of a few die cut leaves and flower to top off the pumpkin. It’s ok and maybe better than horrible to use Gina K’s words.

Sparkling Christmas

I made three cards with one layout. I will share all three cards and choose one to post to the Cardz 4 Galz challenge.

All patterned paper and ephemera are from Spellbinders Sparkling Christmas 2019 card kit. I chose three pieces of paper and cut them following the Natasha Foote layout that Buddy Johanna linked. I think my favorite is card 2 with the swan and little poinsettia flowers. My lighting is a bit off today as it was cloudy outside. Even with natural light, it still didn’t photograph as well as some days.

A couple of posts ago I mentioned medical stuff in my family. It turns out that our daughter has kidney stones which are very painful. We are awaiting the doctor appointment this week then hopefully it will be resolved soon. Thank you for those who noticed my post and asked.
