Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for a very special friend who just lost her longtime live-in boyfriend. He was only in his mid-forties. The past few weeks have been very difficult for her so I hope this card will bring her some comfort.
Background paper was found online, center diamond is Spellbinders Classic Diamonds die, sentiment was printed on the computer. It was about time I got back to fractured cards.
One more Halloween-ish card. My card began with a circle die cut that was used as my stencil for my night sky which was ink blended with several Distress Oxide inks. The second stencil was one from SimonSaysStamp which has a combination of stars and snow. I stenciled the stars using white pigment ink. The Inkadinkadoo Halloween Trails stamp set features my birds. And lastly, Tim Holtz/Sizzix Tall Pines die was layered in grey and black cardstock. I kind of really like this card.
My card today will be shared with the following challenges:
Still no orange! LOL. My pumpkins from Gina K Designs Haunts and Harvest stamp set were colored in teal with GKD’s Harvest florish stencil sponged in a light teal and the focal panel a bit darker. Sentiment from same GKD stamp set.
I was trying very hard to NOT make a Halloween card but somehow I don’t think I achieve that target!!! The Cardz 4 Galz challenge is to pick at least 3 of these colors — Purple, Orange, Black or Green. I chose purple, green and black…..no orange. My Gina K Designs Forever Flowers stamp and die was colored with a Bic Polnyesian Purple marker and tipped with a green Ohuhu marker. After die cutting, I filled in the white outline with black marker. Next up was my background which uses SimonSaysStamp Mix and Match Circles stencil in GKD Lovely Lavender ink and a combination of Taylored Expressions green inks, the outside edge was sponged with Tim Holtz Distress Black Soot. A little splatter in black and purple, a sentiment strip in black and Martha Stewart trio butterfly punch. Still looks like Halloween to me….???
Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and stay safe. Looks like Indian Summer will happen this week for us with temps close to 80 degrees. It’s heat in the morning and a/c in the afternoon in my car! LOL!!
Hello and welcome. Today I have another very simple card. Pp was in my stash, green oval is Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Ovals, pumpkin is computer clip art that I added the sentiment to and popped it up. I used a corner rounder punch on the pp.
Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.
Orange, Black, Purple!! Using a rectangle masking stencil, I blended Gina K Designs Wild Lilac and Sweet Mango inks trying not to overlap the colors as they really wanted to create a more muddied color. A black layer for the focal panel and SimonSaysStamp Leafy Branch die for the “B” portion of my card. Sentiments are Taylored Expressions All Together Happy Occasions stamp and die set. The purple note card was swiped with the Wild Lilac ink pad for a little texture look.
Using masking paper to create a side panel that was then ink blended in purple, I then added some clouds with a stencil and black onyx ink and Taylored Expressions Aflutter butterflies and sentiment to complete my clean and simple card design.
It definitely is sweater time in Pennsylvania…..well at least for the next few days that is!! My fall sweaters were made using Taylored Expressions Sweater Weather kit which included layering stencils, sweater die, clear stamps for the sweater trim, dinky decorations dies which are more of a Christmas/winter theme and will be perfect for Ugly Sweater day. Since I couldn’t wait to play I decided on fall leaves and TE’s Fall Garden Variety dies. The Cuttlebug Herringbone embossing folder reminded me of a sweater. Sentiment was a TE add on to the kit.
Taylored Expressions Halloween Create In Quads background as well as a gift with purchase embossing folder is the subject of my card today. I also used the coordinating die to die cut the witch cauldron.
