Ursinia Flower

Each week I play along with the alphabet challenge at Splitcoast Stampers and this week is a flower called the Ursinia. It is in the daisy family and found in Africa. It’s colors are orange with a darker circle towards the center and then orange in the center. I used the Sunday Stamps sketch to complete my card.

I used Newton’s Nook Dainty Daisies for the flower and a Simon Says Stamp and die set for the word Hugs. The ovals are cut with Gina K Designs and Thermoweb stitched ovals. The patterned paper is from SU Flowers for Every Season DSP. I colored the flowers with alcohol markers and fussy cut them.

Each week of this alpha challenge is another flower I have never heard of. I research each one and either create the flower or use the colors to make my card. This one went together easily with the help of this sketch.

Cute and Cozy

Adorable images are included in the HunkyDory It’s a cute, cute Christmas pocket pad and I decided on these little bears. After fussy cutting the images, I added them to a Taylored Expressions Tiny Twinkles embossing folder background. A few SimonSaysStamp Layered Hills, pretty Pink Posh’s Winter frame and Avery Elle’s love die will complete my card.

Double D Challenges: Warm and Cozy Challenge

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, stay safe and warm.

I must confess that I haven’t started on my Christmas cards yet except for a few made for challenges. Oh my!!! I need to get motivated. Wish me luck.

Joyful Mug

Taking inspiration from Buddy Johanna’s recent mug cards, I decided to give it a try! An older Gina K Designs’ Mugs & Kisses stamps set was used for my focal image mug stamped on a circle die. To help fill in the large circle, I found some GKD ephemera and stamped the candy cane from the same stamp set. Embossing folder is SimonSaysStamps’ Holiday Greenery. Snowflake, patterned paper and word Joy were from my stash.

Chilling Joy

Taking some inspiration from Buddy Gerry’s recent black and white card, I decided to go that route too. So my background is a little “chilling”for Christmas. The patterned paper is from Whimsy Chilling Christmas patterned paper pack. Not really sure if I like this pack or not…..it is a little dark but I’ll keep working at it. The die cut letters are Taylored Expressions Folk Joy die. I did try adding a red “O” to the card but that definitely didn’t work for me so black and white it is.

I was very surprised that my BOO card was the Top Winner in Word Power’s Challenge #10. I was thrilled and honored.

No List? It’s Socks

My warning to my children and grandchildren is usually if I don’t receive a list it’s socks and underwear for them under the Christmas tree. This Unity Stamp Co’s Hold on Santa stamp and sentiment was a perfect set for me to use. The background was made using SimonSaysStamps Poinsettia background stamp in Gina K Designs Cherry Red ink. Each panel was layered with red cardstock.

Google Eyed Turkey

Hello and welcome. This card is for one of our granddaughter’s family. I thought their 3 year old would like the goofy looking turkey.

Turkey is from the Silhouette, labels are no name stitched dies, background ef is from The Paper Studio. Sentiment was printed in my Hallmark card program. Of course googly eyes are perfect for goofy looking turkey. I lightly sponged the edges of the feathers. While I was making this, I kept thinking this will be really stupid, but once it was done I thought it was okay.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time and I appreciate any comments. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

No Brain

Hello and welcome. Time again for D-O-S’s chuckle card.

The sentiment “As a kid, I used to watch The Wizard Of Oz and wonder how someone could talk if they didn’t have a brain. Then I got social media.” was found on Pinterest. D-O-S agrees. For background paper I Googled Wizard Of Oz background paper. Dies used are a no name from Amazon. This was way to quick and easy to make.
