Stenciled Ornaments

Imagine my surprise when I shopped at my local Michael’s and saw layering stencils! And on sale no less! This was a nice additon to my ever growing stencil collection and quite a good price point too. A Taylored Expressions sentiment and some gold splatter for a bit of shine completes my card today and it will be shared with:

Chill Out

Combining patterned paper from the Whimsy Stamps Chilling Christmas patterned paper with Halloween Day of the Dead Sugar Skull from my local Michaels for today’s card to be shared with:

Two Old Bats December 2024 Anything Goes Halloween Challenge

Using a Taylored Expressions Wonky Frame die and inking the edges with some purple ink and then a few layers of a TE diaganol stitched die for interest and TE’s Hexagon Stacklets for a landing spot for the wobbler sugar skull. Some extra flowers were popped up on the skull and in the left corner.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and stay safe.

Always fun to play along with the Two Old Bats. My November entry was chosen as a Top 3, too. I appreciate the recognition.

No more Halloween until January but get back and finish those Christmas cards and December/January birthday cards, too.

Turning 5

Hello and welcome. I’m still working on Christmas cards but just had to squees in a special birthday card. This one is for our neighbor’s grandson that they “share” with us.

His school picture from this year is the focal point. Sentiment was printed in my Hallmark card program. Since this little guy is fascinated with garbage trucks I just had to include a couple. After scoring the four edges I snipped out the four corners.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Classic Colors

Classic Christmas colors of red, green and gold with an unconventional patterned paper background with a whimisical die set just about sums up my card. I am determined to use the Whimsy Stamps Chilling Christmas patterned paper pack. It’s oddly cool and I may be ready for some unconventional cards. Aside from the patterned paper is the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Bid Tidings die set and a color theme challenge from:

Colorful Options: December 2024 Challenge The December colors are Red, Green & Gold My gold is the die cut star on the tree and the ‘snowflake’

Gingerbread Christmas

Hello and welcome. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ours was really great. What made it extra special was that our granddaughter’s boyfriend surprised us all by coming and proposed to our granddaughter. She was so excited. Now on to my card.

I made two of these cards, for our 5-year-old and 3-year-old great-granddaughters. Background paper was found online, gingerbread men are computer clip art. After fussy cutting I edged them with black marker and attached them with wobblers. Sentiment tags were printed on the computer, cut on my paper trimmer then I rounded the corners. Those edges were also trimmed with a marker and popped up.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Wonky Wobbler

Winter can be fun if you are this dressed to impress snow-girl ready to put the star on the wonky tree on a snowy, starry night!!! My wonky tree was stamped and die cut using Catherine Pooler’s Stamp of Approval Hip Holiday set. Next is the snow-girl stamped, colored and fussy cut and popped up on a wobbler is from an Inky Antics Honey Pop stamp set and sentiment from the same set. Honey Pop sets included stamp to include a honeycomb cut out for the inside of your card. Not using the honey pop today though but they are a cute surprise inside. Cuttlebug’s snowflake embossing folder on patterned paper then swiped with white pigment ink to bring the snowflakes to life completes my card.

My card today will be shared in the:

Christmas Tree

I am joining with the buddies in the Turbo Tree challenge.

I saw this idea on Pinterest and went with it. The stamp set is SU Evening Evergreen. I stamped it with Gina K Designs Christmas Pine ink and used Christmas Pine cardstock. I used Spellbinders Rectangle dies for cutting everything. I had 48 seconds left when I shut the timer off.

This was a fun challenge to finish.

Tree under 10!

Speed Challenge — accepted with a theme of Trees! My favorite Stampin Up set is still Lovely As A Tree. After gathering my supplies and starting the timer, I realized that this particular stamp almost lost its rubber backing and needed some temporary adhesive to apply it to the Misti door. To save space, I removed all of my SU stamps from their rubber blocks a few years ago. Next step was to apply versamark ink as I wanted to white heat emboss the tree. My Gina K Designs pad detached from the base so using my fingers I finished stamping with my juicy pad. My inky fingers were able to barely open the lid of the embossing powder and heat set the image. Off to my Big Shot to emboss the white panel with a Darice swirling snowflake folder. Thankfully it was the regular 2D embossing folder so I didn’t have to mess around trying to find the right sandwich. Layered the focal panel on an already die cut panel from my stash, added another layer of green and adhered to the embossed panel and that to the card base. Sentiment!!! Almost forgot about the SU To You and Yours stamp inked in Taylored Expressions Wintergreen ink to match the cardstock and fussy cut. Time: 9 minutes 38 seconds.

I did have to laugh when reading about Buddy Johanna’s speed challenge dilemma after my issues with the embossing pad but these are always fun.

The speed challenge I’m sharing my card with is:

Snow Beauty

My second painted faux dip dye panel using blue as my background for Inkadinkadoo snowflake stamps, Gina K Designs sentiment and Taylored Expressions frame die. The snowflakes were stamped in versamark ink and white heat embossed. I popped a few die cut snowflakes from my go to SimonSaysStamp die to cover up a little oops on the right side of my card.

I will be sharing my card today with:
