9 minutes 12 seconds

A speed challenge card from Buddy Johanna peaked my interest to join in the fun. After gathering my background designer paper from my stash and colored cardstocks and my PUNCHES as required by this speed challenge and a prepared sentiment from my stash I was ready to go. The patterened paper was trimmed to fit my note card and using Marvy circle punches, I punched the largest of the circles in white and light blue, then the next size was punched finishing with SU’s 1-3/8″ punch. After adhering my circles, the EK Success dragonfly was cut multiple times from the different colors with top layering being vellum. Sentiment added and side circle trimmed off just in time. I CASE’d this card idea from Tina @ cardsandcoffeetime.com.

Oops forgot to mention that my card took 9 minutes and 12 seconds to complete and again that much time to clean up!

It always fun to play along and share my card with:

Son Turns 60

Hello and welcome. I can’t believe we have a son turning 60. His birthday isn’t till April 10th, but I just couldn’t wait to make the card.

Background paper was found online. With all the different colors in the paper I thought Old Olive cs worked best. Frame is a no name die from Amazon, labels are Stampin Up’s Modern Label and Word Window punch, sentiment was printed on the computer. Photo was taken last week while he was here for a couple days (I cropped myself out). Inside sentiment was found on Google.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Patterned Paper Hello

I made this card using a video from a winter card making summit. I changed the paper from winter themed to spring themed.

The video was by Wendy Lee, a Stampin Up demonstrator. This patterned paper was a gift and I had one scrap left. It is a Gina K Designs retired print. It was enough to cut into 7/8 inch squares. The scoring is done at 1 inch intervals then an added 1/8 inch score line next to it. I had a Park Lane stamp set close by and the hello fit in a square. I added a red gem, SU brand.

I enjoyed changing the video theme to match what I have. I hope to continue to do more of this as I own a room full of craft items. Thanks for sharing in my card today.

Dead Man Walking

Hello and welcome. It’s never too early for Halloween cards.

Background paper was found online and I sponged the edges in black. Dies used are from two different Tim Holtz Thinlits sets. The “dead man” was cut from Basic Gray cs then I lightly sponged it with black. Grass is a Martha Stewert punch. The grass was also sponged with black.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Peony Splatter

Splatter, splatter everywhere!!! This is the second attempt of my splatter card which features Gina K Designs Double Peony from the Friendly Wishes card kit, sentiment from GKD’s Blooming Butterfly, GKD carnation and spruce inks and Dr Ph Martin’s bleed proof white for the splatter.

Card #1 uses the same products in landscape orientation but UGH!!! this one looks like it has a case of the measles. The Gansai Tambi Starry Colors gold would have been ok until I got a bit heavy handed with the Dr Ph Martin’s Black Star very intense india ink. I did move to a smaller brush but definitely should have stopped sooner than later with my splats. The Top card I splattered through the stencil so it only shows on the image and not the entire card. More clean up with that method but a much better result.

My card will be shared with:

Crazy is our fame – STENCILS are our game: March 2025 Stencil Fun to use a stencil and the monthly optional challenge of splatter.

I also added the top card to the GKD Facebook page monthly mix challenge which was a sympathy card.

Gnome Brooke

Whimsy Stamps Quick Card Fronts are the best and I couldn’t resist including Gnome Wishes patterned paper to my other St Patrick’s Day selections. Do I need more patterned paper? No but these are so adorable and are quick and easy to make a sweet card. I think that the gnomes were getting confused with leprechauns but green is green! I did make the white frame around the gnome using my layering dies. Sentiment included in the package. This card is for our oldest granddaughter.

Since the color of the month is green for Colorful Options this was perfect for me. My card will be shared with:

Colorful Options: March 2025 — It’s not easy being green. Actually I love green. It must be the redhead in me. LOL!

Safari Chick

After being inspired by Buddy Johanna’s recent card that featured a rub on feature, I dug deep in a file cabinet and came across this DCVW Safari Kids Girls run-ons that are glittered. How old and neglected are they? Well they are so neglected they were almost brittle and needed a bit of glue to hold some edges down. The background is a stenciled pattern and a square frame was backed with a piece of vellum.

Happy Rainbows, Con’t

I felt ambitious to continue with my rainbows and use some of the extra pieces that were die cut for the card posted yesterday. Pink Fresh Studios Color Block Rainbow die and sentiment is Taylored Expressions Happy Occasions. This time the extras did go in the trash. I kind of like the patterned paper rainbow on black cardstock.

Happy Rainbows

I went through my patterned paper stash and pulled out patterns in each color of the rainbow then die cut a rainbow for each color using Pink Fresh Studios Color Block Rainbow die. My sentiment is Taylored Expressions Happy Occasions and added a few clay hearts to complete my card. If I find the patience, I can make a few more rainbow patterned cards. IF!!!
