So May seems to be a month of numbers for my husband and myself. First it was his birthday and then our wedding anniversary. So my cards have all included die cut numbers — very little stamping but lots of dies and layers. Thanks for looking.
64th Birthday
This card was for my husband and his 64th birthday. Now I can consider him a classic like his 1964 Pontiac GTO. The image for the GTO was a computer image. He really got quite a kick of our this card.
Mother’s Day 2019 – Wings & Gold
This is a Mother’s Day card for my daughter and will also be entered into the StampTV May 2019 Monthly Mix Challenge to include “Wings” and a gold option. I used a butterfly from GKD’s Birthday Blessings stamp set and the Love sentiment is from Simple Hearts stamped with versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder. Cardstock is also from GKD, stencil by Bonnie and patterned paper is from my favorite DCWV paper pack.

Good Luck
I made a card for a person who was one of the founders of the clinic where I attend an exercise class. This will be for many people to sign as this person takes a new job.
The colors had to be black and gold, as those are the local college colors.
They wanted a tiger on the card and I finally found a tiger stamp in my stash. This clinic is part of the University of MO health centers, so everything will be black and gold, usually with a tiger. I think I gave enough space for many people to sign this card.
Stamps sets are: Something Good from Gina K Designs, Comforting Hugs from Paper Smooches (pawprint), and the tiger is from a jungle themed stamp set, whose name I can’t remember.
A few cards to share
Here are a few cards that I have finished recently.
I started this for the Progressive Cardmaking class and then couldn’t decide where it fit. I did mask the wheelbarrow. The flowers are designed to stamp on top of the wheelbarrow stamp, so really a mask is not necessary. I had fun making this, so decided to go ahead and post.
I have been receiving the Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin’Up recently. There are many videos on You Tube where demonstrators show alternate ideas for the kit. I saw a video recently and followed her idea. I got the idea from Dena Reekow of The Creative Cave. I used Gina K Designs White pigment ink to stamp the rose all over the background. This paper is GKD Moonlit Fog. I used Silver Thread behind the circle. I believe the blue ink is Lawn Fawn Forget-me-Not.
Progressive Cardmaking Day 3 Masking – Advanced
For the advanced lesson, the idea is to mask several images.
You may think my vase is quite round and it is. I used a fish bowl. This stamp is from Rubber Stampede, dated 1994. I have used it as a vase before, but it has been a long time. The flowers are from Power Poppy, Glads & Gerberas. I masked the daisies two times. I stamped one set of flowers, masked them, stamped a set where it hit those flowers, then masked both sets. My last set was stamped in the center. The For You sentiment came from the SU Paper Pumpkin, Sentimental Rose set.
Progressive Cardmaking Day 3 Masking – Intermediate
For the intermediate level with masking, it involved masking more than one image on the card front.
I masked the middle butterfly, then stamped the butterflies above and below. I colored the middle butterfly and left the other two white. My background was quite plain, so I used the flourish stamp in the set with ink that closely matched to give it a bit of background. I used a set designed by Gina K Designs for a Catherine Pooler’s Stamp of Approval collection. It is called Beautiful World. The background paper is Stampin’ Up Wisteria Wonder, stamped with GKD Wild Wisteria. The black ink is Versafine Onyx Black. The sentiment is from SU Paper Pumpkin, Sentimental Rose (April 2019).
Progressive Cardmaking Day 3 Masking – Beginner
Day 3 of the Progressive Cardmaking class is all about masking. The beginner masking is quite simple, basically masking one image to keep it in the forefront.
I used Gina K Designs Bold Blooms for the main image, masking the flower before adding the leaves. The sentiment is from a incentive set by Gina K Designs. It doesn’t have a name and cannot be purchased in her store, but came during a holiday sale. I used Rose Gold embossing powder on Versamark ink. I left the card very simple with no sequins or embellishments. This will be posted in the Altenew Academy class Student Forum.
Hero Arts Memories
Hero Arts is celebrating 45 years in business. I love Hero Arts stamps. I began stamping in 2000 and many of my stamps were Hero Arts. Hobby Lobby carried many Hero Arts stamps, both individual and in sets, and I purchased several. Here is a photo of a few stamps found in my collection from the 1990’s with colored stickers.
