I am enjoying using my mini stamp pads from Gina K Designs to create quick backgrounds for cards.
I used the Wild Blossoms stamp set for the focal image and greeting. Ink pads used were Wild Dandelion, Honey Mustard, Tangerine Twist, and Jelly Bean Green. It was fun to create a quick background and a nice card to send.
Getting into Autumn cards, so I pulled out a Gerda Steiner Designs stamp and Echo Park patterned paper and created a card.
I chose to use Pumpkin Bear from Gerda Steiner Designs, 2019, for my main image. I colored the image with alcohol ink and paper pieced the scarf. I used the Echo Park Celebrate Autumn patterned paper for this card. The scalloped edge was cut with a Lawn Fawn die.
I am adding this to Gerda Steiner Designs Challenge. It has been a while since I have pulled out my GSD stamps and it was fun to create a card with the image.
Fall is almost in the air! It was a little brisk for our morning walk today but heated up again so summer can continue a few more days. In the meantime, the Leaves challenge mood board at Double D has helped me create my card.
My recipe for today’s card is: Simon Says Stamp’s large Stitched Maple Leaf Die cut from a piece of plaid printed paper and a inked/stenciled background I had on my desk for awhile. GKD’s Autumn Wreath Builder and Autumn Splendor stamp sets. TCW Skeletal Leaf Stencil, AALL&Create Dote on Diamonds stencil, Tim Holtz Idea-ology mummy cloth, Denami Designs seal brown 1/4″ ribbon and some GKD kraft and powder blue inks.

CAS Game #199 at the AAA Cards challenge is No Layers + optional twist Hugs. Who doesn’t like hugs? CAS and no layers is a little more difficult for me. This was my third attempt to create this girlfriend card.
After stamping my image in VersaFine Clair nocturne black ink, I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I really need to remember that this ink stays very wet which is why this is my third attempt….inky fingers make inky marks!! Anyway it is easier for me to color when I heat emboss my images so all is good. After coloring in my girlfriends with a variety of markers and pencils, I added the sentiment across their feet. It was just too funny to put in the inside of the card. My girlfriends and I are making plans that if we need to be put into a “home” away from home we need adjoining rooms.
My stamp set is Art Impressions “Live Laugh Love”. It’s really great that AI gives you colored images on their packaging.

The challenge with the As You See It Challenge blog is a speed challenge with humor. Create a card under 10 minutes and should be funny. I love these speed challenges as it really gets your adrenaline pumping. I pulled out my cardstock, decided on my stamps and design and got busy. The image and sentiment are both from an Inkadinkadoo clear stamp set probably from 2007. I have mini stamps of the same kind of stamps and they are dated 2007 so I’m figuring this stamp set is from the same time period. The images are really fun in this set.
Anyway I stamped them in black ink and die cut the circle (GKD large circle single stitched die) from white cardstock and die cut the Spellbinder’s scalloped nestabilities circlein black for the layering portion. I actually had to do this step twice since I couldn’t line the circle up on the scalloped piece….still not perfect but keeping it as time was ticking. The green panel was run through my Big Shot using Cuttlebug’s Happy Birthday embossing folder. The HB sentiment was fussy cut and finished in 9 minutes 41 seconds….WHEW ! I really cut this card close to the 10 minute deadline.
Our daughter’s birthday is in December and this card is definitely going to her. LOL…she should love it but I wonder if she thinks she’s more like me or her father. I can tell you it’s her dad!!!

I have a Halloween card created for specific person. A young lady has gone through a terrible car accident and is in a nursing home learning to walk and balance again. She needs cheering up and loves Halloween. My goal is for this card to bring a smile to her face.
The card front has an ink blended background using Lawn Fawn blues and purple inks with a bit of Gina K Designs Black Onyx. The house is from The Stamps of Life hauntedhouse2stamp colored with alcohol markers. The ghosts and moon came from the same set. The pumpkin is from goodies4wheelbarrow. I wanted a tree and the tree I used is from Maymay Made It called Sittin’Tree. It is fussy cut out as there are no dies for the manual machine.
The inside brings fun with Paper Smooches ghoulfriends set. I love the greeting! I am sure this will bring a smile to the young lady’s face.
This card will be entered in the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge.
I have been making Halloween cards for residents of an Assisted Living Center. All are inspired or copied from SU Demonstrators work found on Pinterest or blogs. Many have provided sketches which I used. Dawn Griffith is a favorite SU Demonstrator and has made several Halloween cards using sketches, so I followed a few of hers. Enjoy these cards.
The above card is a CASE of my daughter’s work. She came into my craft room and told me exactly what colors she used and I simply stamped everything she told me.
I have a total of 15 cards going to this Assisted Living Center. All stamps used were Stampin Up. The majority came from my Mother’s stash. She made cards for Shut-Ins and Halloween was never left out. A few came from my daughter’s stash as she loves Halloween. I own two sets and both were used here in some capacity, but I really do not make many Halloween cards. Maybe I will make more as I have images colored, cut, and waiting to be used sitting in a bowl. Items used on this card include: SU Owl Builder Punch, Bird Builder Punch, Cuttlebug Spider Web embossing folder, Martha Stewart Halloween borders, fussy cut bat, and circle die. I saw the idea on Pinterest and modified a little with the greeting.
Challenge #258 – In The Air is the theme for the As You See It Challenge blog and anything that is in the air.
If you look closely at my very brightly colored background you will find several in the air items. And although not an actual rainbow, my background is rainbow colored. But just to meet the challenge requirements, I added several hot air balloons. That wonderful background is from Taylored Expressions’ Summer Vibes red rubber background stamp. The hot air balloons are Gina K Designs’ Up & Away stamp set illustrated by Theresa Momber.
This may be too much color for some but I’m loving it. This card went to my niece’s daughter in Florida. I’m hoping she will love it.
