Triple Time Dasher

Can You Handle the Pressure

The challenge for the the Can You Handle The Pressure blog is Anything Goes Embossing with a Twist of Christmas. An embossing folder is required for this challenge. My card design was inspired by Stamp Buddy Johanna’s double embossed card for this same challenge. Triple time stamping is one of my favorite techniques so I was curious if it would work using an embossing folder. Using a Cuttlebug rows of ornaments embossing folder I cut the layers for my triple time, positioned them in the embossing folder and ran it through my Big Shot. The focal images matted with colored cardstock and added to my card base. Dasher is a Catherine Pooler stamp set was a freebie from Scrapbook.com. I was glad to find out that the triple time embossing worked but maybe a different folder would show more of the design.

It’s always fun to participate in this challenge. Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and stay safe.

Masculine Foil Birthday

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our grandson’s 23rd birthday. After seeing several cards made with aluminum foil I thought that would make a fun card for a young man. I slightly crumbled the foil then ran it through SU’s Seaside ef. Rectangles are from Spellbinders, band is strips cut with my paper cutter. The 4 gems on the sentiment piece are from my stash. Corner spots are hand punched then covered with Glossy Accents. This was very quick and easy to do.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate your visits. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Wintery Trees Revisited

Four Seasons Challenge – December Anything Goes Winter Challenge

Today’s card is a deconstructed and reworked Day 2 Online Holiday Card Workshop card class card. Our homework was to create a plaid background using masks. This original card sat on my desk since November 1st. Staring at me!!! My first step was to take the three die cut trees focal point, then came the gold die cut circle which was replaced with an ink blended circle which I was hoping would look like a winter sky. Using and cutting apart a Tim Holtz/Sizzix Tall Pines die I made my wintery tree forest. I’m still not sure about the snowy white section under the trees but I think it’s better than what I started with.

Here’s my original card:

Today’s “original” revamped and saved from the trash card will be entered in the December Anything Goes Winter Challenge with the Four Seasons Challenge blog.

Christmas Stocking

Double D Challenges: Christmas Stockings Challenge

Today’s card features a Sizzix Thinlits Sophie Guilar Christmas Stocking die set. After assembling all of the die cut pieces, I added some gold cording, layered it on an embossed circle panel of white shimmer cardstock. The designer paper is from my stash but I believe it was included in a SimonSaysStamp kit. Versamark stamped and gold heat embossed snowflakes from SSS Snowflake Season completes my card which will be entered into the Double D Challenges – Christmas Stocking Challenge.

I am on the hunt for a stocking for our grandson celebrating his first Christmas but haven’t quite found the perfect one for him yet. The mood board has inspired me to look in different directions other than just the red with furry cuff.

spruce Poinsettia

Crazy is our fame–Stencils are our game

December Stencil Fun challenge is to create a Holiday card using stencils. For my card today, I’ve been enjoying using the Gina K Designs layering Perfect poinsettia stencil which was inked using Light, Medium and Dark Spruce from GKD. Preprinted strip sentiment and Glitter Glitz in gold and a spray of perfect pearls for some extra sparkle completed my card.

Great challenge to use my stencils each month. Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. take care and stay safe.

Tasty Cupcake

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge

I took inspiration from the December Anything Halloween challenge with the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge to make my card today. I was inspired by the sweets on the mood board and also I’ve been watching The Food Network Holiday Baking Challenge or maybe I just like sweets!!!

My card uses an older stamp from Inky Antics named Cupcake Birdy. After stamping and coloring in my cupcake I added a delicious spider topping instead of a cherry on top. The sentiment is SimonSaysStamp Happy Haunting, the bow is Taylored Expressions die, the patterened paper and the sparkly web stickers were from my stash and frame was found on my desk.

Split Circle Christmas

Hello and welcome.

Because I really like the split circle cards I’ve been seeing, I really wanted to make a Christmas one. White layer is embossed with Cuttlebug Snow Flakes ef. Circles and sentiment dies are Spellbinders. Sentiment was cut from white glitter paper, gems are from my stash. Hubby really liked this one so I guess it’s OK.

Thanks for stopping by your visit means a lot to me. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Gift Card Holders

Hello and welcome.

Today’s gift/money holder cards are for our 3 youngest great-grandkids, Matthew 5, Stella 3, Bernie 1 1/2. The 17- & 13-year old’s get the same as the adults. I found the pattern on Pinterest. Gingerbread man pp was in my stash, snowman pp is from online. The Gingerbread man and snowman images are computer clip art and fussy cut. I glued the top half of the figures and added Velcro to the bottom to hold it closed. Since the 2 girls are not sisters I made their cards the same. The $1 bill is just to show how paper money fits as well as a gift card.

Thanks for stopping by your visits are important to me. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe. Oh yeah, and warm.

Frosty Winter White

Colorful Options

Can You Handle The Pressure

My card today is a Frosty Winter White card that includes a Darice snowflake swirl embossing folder, Taylored Expressions Bows die cut in a shimmer light frosty blue cardstock, Catherine Pooler’s Stamp of Approval with Cas-ual Fridays Stamps Merry labels Joy die, and multiple Martha Stewart sprig punched in shimmer white cardstock.

Using that old punch was the hardest part of this card. I made a circle frame for my wreath and then started adding the MS sprigs. The Joy sentiment and the Bow die are both layered for dimension. Liquid pearls in silver “beads” completed my wreath and this card.

I’ll be entereing this into the Colorful Options Winter White challenge

And because I used an embossing folder decided to also include it in the Can You Handle the Pressure challenge opting not to use the twist of Thanks card

And after reading the Colorful Options challenge, they are having a joint collaboration with Double Trouble Paper Crafting which this card will also be entered.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe. Flu season is upon us!!
