Basket Weave Fall Card

I made a card with the basket weave technique for the Thursday challenge on Split Coast Stampers. I specifically chose fall colors to work with the Mod Squad Challenge for this week: http://modsquadchallenge.com/fall-stampendous/

The cardstock used is SU Early Expresso and GKD Ivory. I used scraps for the die cut leaves. I wanted the die cut leaves on the front and they needed to be on a color that would help them to be seen, so I made the labels to place them on. The labels were cut using a Hero Arts die and embossed with SU Layered Leaves 3D folder. The sentiment “grateful” came from GKD Skeleton Leaves.

The inside was stamped with a leaf image that was won in a grab bag from Gina K Designs. I do not know the name of the stamp set it originally came from. I used fall colored Memento inks to stamp it. The inside sentiment came from SU Painted Harvest. It is stamped in Memento Expresso Truffle which is a great match for the cardstock.

This was a fun technique to learn and create.

Birthday Celebration Flip-it Card

I had fun making this flip-it card.

Birthday Celebration front

The cardstock and patterned paper are from The Stamps of Life. This is the first time I have used their patterned paper and cardstock together. Love how the colors match.

The front stamped greeting is from the Stampin’Up, March Paper Pumpkin, set called Poppin’ Birthday. The inside greeting is also SU called Bring on the Cake. This is for a 25th birthday as you can see with the numbers being colored.

I used Gina K Designs Red Hot ink for the greeting. It matched the paper perfectly. The Tombow marker #856 matches the ink and paper quite well, so it was used to color the numbers.

I made the fold out piece to either write something or place a gift card there. I can add a vellum envelope to hold the gift card, if needed.

Dies used are the Sizzix Framelits Flip-its with a circle. I thought circle was part of the name, but it doesn’t appear to be. I used SU Stitched Shapes Framelits for the white circles. The white paper is Whisper White from SU. This is also a first for me. I had a couple of pieces, so pulled one out to use with this card. It is a smooth white and bright. I really like it.

This is for my daughter who is not into pinks and frills. Hopefully this will be acceptable to her.

Magnolia Happy Birthday

I sat down today and just stamped. It is fun to do this sometimes. I did use the colors for this week’s color challenge at Split Coast Stampers: Pear Pizzazz, Petal Pink, Calypso Coral.

Magnolia Blooms

The set is from SU called Magnolia Blooms. It is not in the printed catalog, but in a catalog for new stampers or stampers new to SU. I like the price of the set, so it made my list. I am pretty sure I have used this layout before, probably saw in a video. I had a pack of the Pear Pizzazz paper that was new, from my mother. It worked well for the card base. I added the black layer to help, since I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I needed something to add for the greeting and larger flower, so I looked in a file of paper from my sister and it had Calypso Coral. I added a strip on a black layer. It needed help, so it was embossed with the stand-by, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. I even decorated the inside of the card and an envelope to match.

Floral Hello and Hugs

I saw a video with My Favorite Things and then applied the idea to a Monochromatic Challenge with Split Coast Stampers. After looking at the items I used, I decided to use it with the Retro Challenge. https://www.retrorubberchallengeblog.com/my-blog/2019/08/challenge-117-anything-goes.html Here is the challenge label: RRCB117

Monochromatic Card One RRCB117

The stamp set used is called Obsessed with Floral by Unity Stamp Company. I believe it came to my home in June, 2018. The die is Scripty Hello from Lawn Fawn, which has been in my home for around a year, but was released in 2014 or 2015.

The paper is Gina K Designs: Layering Weight White, Moonlit Fog, and Slate.

With cutting into one inch strips, this has pieces for two cards. The next one has Hugs on it.

Monochromatic Card Two

It is always fun to make two cards from one idea.

Masculine Card

This card will be entered in this month’s Gina K Designs challenge: https://www.ginakdesigns.com/2019/08/01/august-2019-monthly-mix-challenge/

Thinking of You

This started out as a one-layer card, but I really didn’t like it, so I trimmed it down and layered it. The stamp set used is Framescape Winter Trees. I used Memento Dew Drop ink pads to stamp the color on this card. There were several used. I did spritz the paper with a gold shimmer spray. I am not sure you can really see it in the photo, but it is there. This will also be placed in the Split Coast Stampers Dirty Dozen Card challenge.

You Make me Smile

This week’s challenge is to make a one-layer card. I often create my card on a piece of paper the same size as the card base and place them together using my MISTI. Here is the link: http://modsquadchallenge.com/layer-me-not/

MSC You Make me Smile

The stamp set used is a mini-set from Gina K Designs, You Make me Smile. I colored the image using Spectrum Noir Tri-color blends: Coral Blend, Citrus Blend, Citrus Green Blend. I used a BG10, Cool Shadow Copic marker to trace around the flower. I added border lines to ground the flower, using a Tombow marker and a t-square ruler. I added sequins. You will also find this card on Split Coast Stampers in the Dare to Get Dirty challenge.

Sparkly Christmas Card

This card is being entered in the Mod Squad Challenge: http://modsquadchallenge.com/all-that-sparkles/

Merry Christmas Sparkles

The stamp set used is GKD Winter Flower. I stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink, embossed with clear embossing powder. The flowers are watercolored with Arteza WC Paint. I finished the card by adding stickles to the center of each flower and spraying it with gold sparkle spray.

All Aboat You

CAS544 All Aboat You

Stamps: SU High Tide, TSOL sailboat2stamp

Inks: GKD Kraft, Lawn Fawn: Deep Sea, Fish Tank, Blue Jay, Lobster, Memento Tuxedo Black

This challenge, on Split Coast Stampers, was to make a Clean and Simple card using water in some way. I knew I wanted to use the sailboat, but hadn’t figured out the water. I watched a video by Connie Stewart showing eight different ways to ground an image. One was to mask the image and stamp something on top of it. I went to my stamp arsenol and found the High Tide stamp set and it had everything I wanted for the boat. It had a nice image of water and lovely birds. I enjoy finding items in my vast array of stamps from many companies that work well together. I used to do this all of the time, but got away from it for a few years. I am so glad those ideas are coming back into my brain.

Going away Card

My exercise instructor is going away. She is getting married! Her last day will be in two weeks. I was asked to make a card from our heath fitness group. I made it A9 size, which is an 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of paper folded in half at the 5 1/2 inch mark. I made an envelope also, but didn’t take a photo. It is a marbled gray color.

Stampendous Yoga critters

I saw these Stampendous Yoga Critters and thought they made the perfect images for our class card. We often feel like we can’t do the exercise we are being asked to do.

Fred Said set

For her wedding, the instructor ordered Converse shoes in all white for her and her girls, and gray for him and his sons. Yes, they are thinking Brady Bunch with the combining of their households. So, the ladies said that shoes belonged on the card. I found a set by Impression Obsession called Fred Said. It is based on Fred Rogers, Mr. Rogers PBS TV show. I didn’t use any of the sentiments from the set, but plan to use this quite a bit. This is the inside of the card.

I hope she enjoys her card. I know the fellow exercise class participants will enjoy writing on it.
