Christmas Puppy

Following Buddy Gayle, I had to play with the AAA challenge. I have many animal stamps, but a favorite has been Paper Smooches since I bought the first stamp from them. I am sure it was one that I used on this card. I am also playing along with the Let’s Squash It challenge of using my folder and keeping it CAS.

https://aaacards.blogspot.com/2022/07/game-219-anything-goes-christmas-pets.html

The stamps used are all from Paper Smooches: Chubby Chums, Chubby Chums Pals, and a greeting set. The background was embossed using a Darice EF. I added sparkle to the hat with Nuvo glitter. The nozzle clogged and when trying to unclog it with a craft pick, the nozzle came off of the bottle. My hack was to use a broken q-tip and use the cardboard to apply the glitter glue. Worked perfect!

As I am typing, I am getting chats with the grocery store. I placed the online order in last night, so they are currently shopping for our order. This is a first for placing it to pick up early in the morning. So far, so good with the questions. Thanks for spending time with me!

Fish Porthole

I had fun creating a sea of fish card.

https://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2022/07/creatures-inunder-sea.html

I used the Critters in the Sea Lawn Fawn set for the fish. I chose several colors for my under the sea world. I decided to view these bright sea critters through a porthole, which meant I needed a boat. For my boat, I scored the paper with 1/4 inch scores, then used Kraft ink from Gina K Designs to add the boat color. The porthole and card base are made from Lawn Fawn Knock on Wood patterned paper. I found the gems in my stash. The greeting is from a Paper Smooches set.

Thank you for spending time to view my cards. This is my third post for today and will be the last.

Snoopy eating a Treat

Summertime is the perfect time for an ice cream treat. Snoopy and Woodstock seem to agree.

https://cyhtp.blogspot.com/2022/07/anything-goes-embossing-with-twist-of.html

I used a Stampabilities set called Snoopy Eating Ice Cream, which is the perfect name. I added a piece of Echo Park patterned paper to add more color; it is a popsicle print. The embossing folder is The Paper Studio A2 Quatrefoil, which I think looks like the ice cream cone pattern. This was a fun card to create. Sometimes I like to color an image that I haven’t colored in a long time. I think it has been a few years. The greeting is from Lawn Fawn, Simply Summer Greetings.

Butterfly Hello

This month’s Gina K Designs challenge is to have minimal color on your card. I chose to stamp butterflies today. The Sisterhood of Crafters has butterflies in their challenge.

I used two sets for this card: Tropical Blooms and matching dies and the other is Sending Love. I fussy cut the large butterfly then added color with alcohol markers. I found a stash of sequins earlier in the week, so I used a few on this card. I added sparkle to the butterfly, but the photo doesn’t show it.

Happy Geranium

I love geraniums. They are such a pretty flower and usually easy to grow in a flower pot. I colored geraniums for the Four Seasons challenge. I see that Colorful Options has the same colors, so it will also go there.

https://thefourseasonschallenge.blogspot.com/2022/07/july-anything-goes-summer.html https://colorfuloptions.blogspot.com/2022/07/july-2022.html

I used the stamp set Geranium Take Two from Power Poppy. I colored it with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and a bit of water. I wanted a bit of red, so I found a piece of patterned paper from my Lawn Fawn stash. The card base is a MFT piece of cardstock. I gave it texture with the SU Subtle Embossing Folder.

Enjoy Every Moment

I had time to create a card for Can You Handle the Pressure?

https://cyhtp.blogspot.com/2022/06/anything-goes-embossing-with-twist-of_02066267684.html

I used the long ago retired SU Elegant Bouquet embossing folder. Then I added a butterfly which I stenciled and die cut with the Gina K Designs Fluttering Fall layering stencil bundle. The inks used with the butterfly are Lawn Fawn. The stamp with the greeting is Hero Arts. I added gems from my stash of retired SU product. I mounted the card on Turquoise Sea cardstock from Gina K Designs.

I like the butterfly. This is the first time I have used the bundle that I received in April. I hope to have time to create more butterflies and possibly use the stamps that came in the bundle.

Skeleton Spinner

I have been working on Summer Virtual Stamp Night with Splitcoast Stampers. One of the cards is to be a spinner. I found a Frankenstein in my stash all colored and cut out, so I began creating with him in mind. First snag was my circle was too large for my pennies as I didn’t pay enough attention to the details of the tutorial. So off I went for more change and the quarters worked. Next snag was Frankie was too large for the small circle as he kept stopping the spinning motion. Sad to say, he didn’t make it to my card.

This card is all Halloween. It will be entered in the Two Old Bats Halloween challenge. I remembered this challenge thanks to Buddies Gayle and Gerry.

https://twooldbatshalloweenchallenge.blogspot.com/2022/06/june-anything-halloween.html

My card background was created using a Paper Pumpkin Sept 2019 set. I added the candies from a Paper Smooches set.

The card is quite heavy, so it will not be mailed. It does spin! It was fun to create.

Channeling My Inner Gina

Today I created with a Gina K Designs technique. I had so much learning a new technique and made 8 backgrounds before stopping and cleaning up.

https://ginakdesigns.com/2022/06/01/june-2022-monthly-mix-challenge/?v=7516fd43adaa

The technique is called Polished Stone. Here is her video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeRZNI_Xeio&t=50s

I used Ranger cardstock with a glossy finish, ink refills, gold shimmer, and 70% rubbing alcohol. I used cotton balls to apply it all over the cardstock. It is addictive, which is why I kept going. I kept trying different colors to see what they looked like. This one has green, Kraft, and the gold all swirled together. I am not sure what kind of black ink really works on this kind of finish. I started with Versafine and after stamping four times, it still wasn’t dark enough for me. I came back with Archival Ink and stamped it another three or four times. I decided to let it go and let it dry. I added it to a gold layer and then on an Ivory card base. I like this technique and really like the finished card. I chose to let the background be with no embellishments.

I stamped the greeting with Gina K Designs Merry and Bright set.

Christmas House

I have been creating a few Christmas cards lately.

https://peaceonearthchristmas.blogspot.com/2022/06/peace-on-earth-challenge-17.html

This began with a movie theme, Christmas Vacation, but I am not sure that this house really fits the house in the movie. I used an embossing folder to add trees to the background. I tried to add snow with white pigment ink and sparkle embossing powder. I added Nuvo sparkle to the tree and the house. I do like the card and it was fun to create. The stamp set used is Farmhouse Christmas by StampinUp.
