golden webs

https://twooldbatshalloweenchallenge.blogspot.com/2022/05/may-anything-halloween.html

For this card I got my inspiration from the lower right section of the inspiration photo. For the gold webs I found a piece of gold vellum in my stash. Not knowing if embossing vellum would work, I thought why not give it a try. Looking at the embossed vellum it seemed a little too bright so I used a cotton ball and black stamp pad to soften it. Large spiders are an old Sizzix sisslet die, small spiders are from a Quick Cuts die. Looking at the cut spiders I had the brilliant idea to cover them with silver Wink of Stella then used stickles for creepy eyes on the large ones. All spiders are popped up with Dimensionals.

Rudolph and trees

Today’s card will be entered in https://peaceonearthchristmas.blogspot.com/2022/05/peace-on-earth-challenge-15.html.

Background paper was found online, stamps and dies are from Stampin’ Up’s Santa’s Sleigh set. I used red Stickles on Rudolph’s nose and he’s popped up. Stamping is kind of hard for me because I don’t have much strength in my hands, but the Stamparatus makes it much easier. This was a very quick and easy card to make.

butterflies

Today’s card will be entered in JUGS Make a Tri-fold card. https://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2022/04/just-us-girls-wild-card-week-630.html

Cardstock is from a box of cs I bought at a local paper company several years ago. Pp is DCWV that I’ve had forever. Butterfly that is popped up is Butterfly Thinlits from SU. It’s a good thing the pp was a 12×12 sheet because I don’t do well with measuring and cutting angles. Here’s a link to the video https://stampwithlorraine.com/angled-tri-fold-card/

thinking of you

While perusing Pinterest I saw some quilt squares that I thought that might make a cool card. So, here’s my version of a quilt square

Card base 5×5. At first, I added the sentiment piece squared but then thought it would look much better cornered, kind of star shape. Embossing folder used for the corners is from SU, sentiment is from Gina K’s Dazzling Dahlias stamp set. Actually, I think it looks much better in real life.

This will be entered in Can You Handle The Pressure challenge https://cyhtp.blogspot.com/2022/04/anything-goes-embossing-with-twist-of_0267032586.html

1st teenage birthday

Today’s card is for our great-grandson. Hard to believe we now have 2 teenage great-grandsons.

Card is from the Silhouette. The file cuts the card in one piece, but the front has no backing, so I cut it at 4 1/4 so I could mount it on a card front. The cut-out front looked kind of blah, so I embossed it. Before running it through SU’s Dots ef, I ran it through my Xyron so I’d be sure it would adhere really well. Inside just says “Happy First Teenage Birthday, Ryan!”

another birthday?

Today’s card is for our b-i-l. When I found the sentiment “What, another birthday? Aren’t you old enough already?” I knew it would be perfect for him. I had a hard time coming up with a design till I thought of making a square card. The background papers and square brads were found in my stash. I would have liked a little larger brad but this is all I had.

Hurt Feelings

Time again for a chuckle of the month for dear old sister. Sentiment “I always laugh when people try to hurt my feelings…as if I have any”. was found online, and image is online clip art.  Ef used is from SU but unfortunately, I don’t remember the name. Before embossing the background layer, I cut the circle using Spellbinders Classic Circle die. Sentiment tags were cut on my SU trimmer, I hand cut the ends and popped the strips up.

Performance Upgrade

Glad you stopped by. Today’s card is for our s-i-l who is having his second hip replacement. To get ideas for a hip replacement card I went to Pinterest and found one with this sentiment. Color combination came about when I saw the color challenge at JUGS. It doesn’t show in the photo, but I scored all 4 sides of the black layer and corners on the white layer.

Easter Treat Box

Hello and welcome. I want to wish you all a Happy Easter.
This treat box is for our neighbors 2 year old grandson. Every time he’s at grandma & grandpa’s he has to come to see Doug & Gerry, could that be because I always have a treat for him???
The box is from the Silhouette. Instead of stamping & coloring, I took the easy way out and used a clip art bunny and fussy cut it. Corner dots are a small circle hand punch, punched from pp. Inside has light green tissue paper that I cut the top edge with a MS scissors. I’m not sure but I think the scissors is called a fringe cutter.
