Doily Bridal Dress

Hello and welcome. When our daughter was here this past weekend she wanted to make shower card for her daughter. When she “makes” a card it’s sitting next to me while I do the work. LOL We found several cards with the dress made from paper doilies and she liked this pattern best. She just wanted it to be plain, no sentiment on the front. She hand wrote a beautiful note inside. Doily, ribbon & gem are from my stash. Embossing folder used is from Cuttlebug.

Thank you for stopping by I appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy and safe with all the crazy weather around.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Hello and welcome. I’ve been wanting to use different ribbons or strips of pp to make die cuts, so I finally did it. I cut 1/4″ strips of two different patterned papers, glued them to a piece of white cs then used Stampin Up’s Sweet & Sassy framelits heart die. Then edged it with a black marker. Back layered heart is from the same set with Wink Of Stella around the edges. I recently watched a video on using a circle punch so that’s what I did for corners. Embossing folder is from Cuttlebug. Sentiment was printed on the computer. Here’s the link to the punch video https://stamptasticdesigns.com/2020/05/10/fun-and-simple-way-to-use-circle-shapes-in-card-making/

Nostalgic Birthday

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for a friend that we see every week at our favorite restaurant, he’s the only man at a table for 6. The background page was found online. First, I cloned out the photo and words that were there then added his photo and my own words. I did all that in my Hallmark card program. The page has lists Of What Things Cost, Sporting Highlights, On Television, Stars Born, Top Songs, At The Cinama & Events. It was fun reading about those things.

Birthday Number 4

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our youngest great-granddaughter (who should still be a baby). When I started, I had no idea what I wanted to do except use her picture. Patterned paper was found online, frame is Spellbinders Classic & Scalloped Rectangles. Numbers are from an online coloring page fussy cut and edged with black marker. Corners were rounded for a little interest.

Valentine Squares

Hello and welcome. I got the idea for this card while perusing Pinterest. You can see that card here https://www.pinterest.com/pin/342555115426299413/. Cardstock is Stampin Up background paper was a piece in my stash. Heart dies are Sweet and Sassy Framelits by Stampin Up. Sentiment and clip art hearts were done in my Hallmark card program. Ribbon has been in my stash for years and since I don’t do much ribbon it took me some time to get the bow right. At first when I looked at the finished product, I thought it didn’t look right with the one red square covered by the heart but the more I looked at it the more I liked it.

Slam Dunk Valentine

Hello and welcome. Today’s card for our 15 year old great-grandson. Yup, you guessed it, he plays basketball for his high school. I looked at a lot of basketball Valentine’s online to come up a design. Basketball, net and hearts are computer clip art. For the ball I printed off a basketball and punched it out with a hand punch. I used an exacto knife to make a slit at the rim of the basket so I could tuck the ball in to make it look like a slam dunk. For a little interest I rounded the corners. It was printed in my Hallmark card program.

Last Pocket Valentine

Hello and welcome. This is the last pocket Valentine for this year. As usual the pp was found online and the bear is computer clip art. Bear was fussy cut, then edged with a black marker. Script was added in my Hallmark card program. What I really like about this bear is how the eyes look googly.

Valentine Dinosaur

Hello and welcome. Since my first pocket card turned out so well, I decided to make more. This one will go to our 3-year-old great-granddaughter. She loves dinosaurs. Both patterned papers were found online, and the dinosaur is computer clip art. After printing ‘Be My Valentine Bernie’ I fussy cut Dino. I still have a 7 & 5 year old great-grandson’s that will also get pocket cards. Hopefully they’ll like that there’s an easel back.

Pocket Valentine

Hello and welcome. This is my first attempt at making a pocket card. I followed the video by Jackie Bolhuis here https://klompenstampers.com/bee-my-valentine-fun-pocket-card-designs/

Since it’s just a single piece of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 cs I added an easel back so it could stand up. Pattern papers are Stampin Up, image is computer clip art fussy cut. There’s a heart border on the inside that is also clip art. This was really quite easy to make and I’m very pleased with it. This one will go to our 6-year-old great-granddaughter.
