Trendy Trees!

Double D Challenges: Trees

Using Taylored Expressions Trendy Tree Farm background stamp, stencil and die to make today’s card and sharing it with the Double D Challenge with a theme of Trees.

This was such a fun set with which to make cards. The sentiment is also a Taylored Expressions’ Joyful Season stamp and die combo. Love the combination of stamps, dies and stencils.

The sentiment was layered on a vellum die cut circle. A few little stars for some of the trees completes this card.

Double D Inspiration Board

Most of the leaves in our neighborhood have passed their peak and fallen to the ground. We only have leaf collection for another two weeks so hopefully they will all drop in time for those collections. There was a hint of snow this morning just enough to add a little glisten to our newly “painted” zoysia grass. LOL….our new Thanksgiving tradition will be painting the straw like zoysia grass with green lawn paint. It keeps hubby happy and that’s all that matters.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. Putting the finishing touches on my Christmas cards and hoping to mail no later than December 1st. Take card and be safe.

Foxy Skater

Gina K Designs November 2021 Monthly Mix Challenge

Focusing on Christmas cards, I am playing along with the November Monthly Mix Challenge hosted by Donna at Gina K Designs to include critters on your card project. I received 1 of 3 Christmas lists from our grandchildren and one request was an animal painting project with either a llama or a fox. I knew I had this really cute skater fox from Gina’s Christmas Wishes stamp set. After coloring and die cutting foxy, I added some falling snow, mounted foxy on some die cut circles and a plaid strip. Sentiment is Gina’s Star Struck stamp set from the Joyful Holiday kit.

Fun challenge. Thanks for hosting Donna. Have a great day and be safe.

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge – November Anything Halloween

The November Anything Halloween challenge with the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge was almost a stumper for me!!! The mood board has a broom theme seen here:

and I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it until I found this large witch broom from Hampton Art Graphic 45 in my stash. I made my wall inking white pigment ink on gray cardstock using Picket Fence Studios English Brick Wall Stencil. After fussy cutting my broom and adding a spider web to my wall it still seemed incomplete. Off to Pinterest for ideas and I found this little sign that I resized and printed “Witches Welcome – Free Broom Parking” I think that is just what my card needed for this this challenge.

Always fun to play along with the Two Old Bats.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. Have a great day and be safe.

Merry Gnome!

AAA Cards Game #202 – Sketch + Optional Gnome

Getting this card in slightly under the wire with the challenge over at AAA Cards which is a sketch challenge with an optional twist to add a Gnome. How could I not play along? Today’s card uses an older red rubber stamp set “Season’s Greetings” from Gina K Designs which was stamped in white pigment ink then heat embossed with white embossing powder. My gnome twist is SimonSaysStamps’ lil gnome die. I did have a bunch of bodies cut out from the past so only need to cut a beard, nose and base and assemble together. Since I had action wobblers on my desk from some Thanksgiving cards for my grandkids, I decided to give Lil Gnome a little wobbling action.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. Have a great day and be safe.

Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge #3

Working on some Christmas cards and decided to play along with the Anything Christmas challenge #3 with the Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge blog. The inspiration board intrigued me with the black and white plaids and the hints of red.

Using my The Crafters Workshop buffalo plaid stencil, I inked and die cut a section of the panel, stamped my GKD Christmas Joy tree in red and using the Spellbinders oval and scalloped oval nestabilities it was ready for assembly. However, my card just looked a little unfinished so there was a piece of glossy photo cardstock on my desk and decided to emboss it with the SSS Kaleidoscope embossing folder for more texture. The stamped sentiment is also from the same GKD Christmas Joy stamp set.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. Have a great day.

tic tac bell

The Paper Players PP565

My card is playing in the Tic Tac Toe Challenge: PP565 hosted by Ann for the Paper Players tonight. I opted for the center row down elements which includes Circles, Patterned Paper and Embossing. My sentiment from GKD’s Very Merry Christmas illustrated by Theresa Momber was stamped and then die cut with a Gina K Designs single stitched circle and layered in kraft cardstock onto a Spellbinders nestabilities circle die. My next element is patterned paper and I decided to create my own patterned paper by using The Crafters Workshop Buffalo Plaid Stencil and Distress Oxide inks in antique linen and walnut stain to give me a color pretty close to kraft . I then stamped the bell from SU’s Christmas Classics stamp set in walnut stain and then versamark and heat embossed it in clear embossing powder and fussy cut. My top layer is a piece of glitter paper and a strip of kraft cardstock to try to hide my seam between layers.

I wanted to yell BINGO but realized that was the wrong game so Tic-Tac-Toe it is.

When I first began stamping and cardmaking it, seemed reasonable if I was making one card I may as well make the second. So I am hoping to continue in that manner and create at least two cards of the same design. Even making two cards of the same design they each seem a little different and unique in their own way.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. Hope everyone had a Boo-tiful Halloween.

Snowflake Joy

Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge #2

I’m kind of drawn to buffalo plaids this year for my Christmas cards. I used the inspiration of the black and white stockings in the anything goes Christmas challenge Inspiration Board to make my card.

Using my buffalo plaid square stencil from The Crafters Workshop and Black Soot Distress Oxide ink I layered by buffalo plaid on some red cardstock. Memory Box’s Snowflake Joy was used for my focal image. This came together quickly. .

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. TGIF in another hour. Enjoy your day and the upcoming weekend.

Chase’s 11th Birthday

The Sisterhood of Crafters: Happy Birthday

The Sisterhood of Crafters Happy Birthday theme is right in time for our oldest grandson’s birthday next week. OMG…how can hw be 11 years old! I made my birthday card for Chase using Taylored Expressions Balloon Party layering stencils, SimonSaysStamp large Happy Birthday die and Gina K Designs Applemint, Turquoise Sea and Wild Lilac ink.

After die cutting the sentiment in a turquoise card stock, I decided to die cut it from my stenciled panel. I die cut the sentiment one more time, stacked the three die cuts into the panel. I carefully added some of the surrounding letter pieces to the sentiment panel.

I’m a little undecided if I want to add a sentiment strip to the front of this card. Maybe something in block printing. After making this card my hubby and I laughed wondering if Chase could read the sentiment since they do no teach cursive writing in their school district. I just don’t understand that!!

Thanks for stopping in for a peek.

Pumpkin Boo!

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge

My second card for the October Anything Halloween Goes challenge with The Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge is inspired by the pumpkins on the inspiration board. My pumpkins were stamped in black ink using a Recollections Halloween stamp set and the Gina K Designs Wicked for my sentiment. The trees were die cut using a SimonSaysStamp Ghouls & Tree dies, a few bats and ghosts were also added to my color burst background.

Not too spooky for this card.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. Fall weather will be coming our way on Sunday in Pennsylvania after a very warm Saturday. We were able to attend our granddaughter’s soccer game and she scored 3 goals but the softball game was rained out! Bummer!!!
