Still Married

Hello and welcome. Well, my eye surgery went very well and it’s so good seeing everything so clear. Makes cardmaking much easier.

Today’s card is for some dear friends. Background scene was found online, car die cut is Marianne Designs. “Still Married” sign was printed on the computer and trimmed on my SU paper trimmer. Since it was too small to use a corner rounder punch, I rounded the corners with a nail file. Car and sign were edged with a Copic marker. Car is popped up. Inside sentiment “A marriage with a little mileage is something to celebrate!” I found the idea for this card when I Googled anniversary cards.

Hello and welcome. I’m very happy that this card fits two challenges.

Today’s card is for our great-grandson. He just started to play soccer this spring. Card base is from the Silhouette, small circles are SU punches. Punched circles were embossed with a SU ef. Background paper and the number 5 were found online. Number was fussy cut and backed with chip board for just a little bit of pop up. I thought it was so cool to have the number from soccer ball pp. Letters are from a Sizzix Sizzlits strip die. Letters were cut from both green and black. I decided to pop the letters. So, I used Foam Adhesive Strips from SU and cut lots of teeny tiny pieces.

Just a note to ask you all for good wishes on my eyelid lift surgery. I’m having it tomorrow, the 14. Hopefully it well really improve my vision.

Best Diet

Hello and welcome. Time again for DOS’s chuckle of the month.

Sentiment, “I finally found a diet that really works. The price of food.” was found either on Pinterest or Google. Border and image were also found online. This was so simple it felt like cheating. Dear old sister agrees about the diet.

Round Birthday

https://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2022/07/just-us-girls-challenge-640-trend-week.html

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our s-i-l whose birthday is the day before our daughter’s.

My first thought was to make a hexagon shaped card but then decided on round. Cs is Basic Gray and Smokey Slate from SU. I think the pp is also SU. Card base and Smokey Slate circles are from the Silhouette, pp circles are Die-namics Stitched Circles, sentiment circle is also Stitched Circles. Sentiment was printed on the computer. I’m very happy with the finished product, and hubby likes it.

tower Birthday

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our daughter. Not knowing what I wanted to do, I found this pp in my stash, so I at least had the color. The video I watched, on You Tube, was for a 5×7 card. I would rather have made a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 but I just couldn’t figure out the right scoring measurements. Sentiment stamp is from Gina K’s Birthday Blessings set, flowers are from a SU punch and topped with Clear Wink of Stella. Butterfly die is Floral Frame die set from Gemini. Butterflies are popped up. To give the illusion of layering, I edged all layers with a black Copic marker. This will be entered in Make the Cards challenge #58 https://makethecardschallenge.com/make-the-cards-challenge-58/

5 Ghosts

https://twooldbatshalloweenchallenge.blogspot.com/2022/07/july-anything-halloween.html

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for the Two Old Bats challenge. I chose the lower left corner of the mood board for my card.

For some reason I wanted to make it a slimline. Card base is white cs and I used a cotton ball and black stamp pad to soften the edges. To soften the black cs I used a blending brush with white stamp pad, then I distressed the edges using a Tim Holtz distresser. Ghosts are from the Silhouette and popped up with Dimensionals.

Mini Slimline Easel

Hello and welcome. I was surprised to see the link show up this way. As you can see today’s card is for Make the cards challenge.

I got the idea for a slimline easel card on Pinterest, here’s the link https://www.pinterest.com/pin/AZbf0NF6ImRUb7V_s7TAXNeSqz7KTn_JaW0yR3XEiLnIwTC-SRO08mI/

I decided to make mine a mini. The flower pp has been in my stash for quite some time, Happy Birthday pp was found online, and there was just enough left to cut this size piece. Focal flower is from the Silhouette, center gem is Opal Rounds by SU. I’m not entirely happy with it but I think it’s ok.

Thanks for stopping by. I wish you a happy and safe 4th of July.

Riding Through Life

Today’s card is for our daughter & s-i-l’s 26th anniversary. Since they are big bikers when I saw a card similar to this, I thought it would be a fun card for them (although they don’t ride a tandem bike). Sky background paper was found online, grass is a MS punch. For the roadway I used a cotton ball and black stamp pad. Image is computer clip art that I painstakingly fussy cut. Image is popped up with small pieces of mounting tape.

Sympathy

Today’s card was especially emotional for me to make. Our granddaughter’s boyfriend, who lived with his dad, found his dad dead in bed one morning. He was only 54. I just can’t imagine what Carter is going through after that trauma. Unfortunately, we can’t make it to MN for the funeral, but it will be streamed so we can watch it. My heart goes out to the family.

Die cuts are Swirly Scribbles Thinlits by SU. Sentiment and label stamp and die are from the Rose Wonder set also SU.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.
