Plain And Simple

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for my sister-in-law. After seeing so many cards using scraps I decided it was time to try one. Circle was cut with Stitched Circles die by Die-namics. Before embossing with a Darice birch tree ef I printed sentiment on the computer. Circle and embossed layer were edged with a Copic marker. Surprisingly I kind of like it.

Fall Leaves Birthday

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our oldest granddaughter.

All I had in mind when I started it was to make it fallish. Patterned paper was found online, die cuts are a no name die set I bought on Amazon. Sentiment piece is popped up and the corner leaves are from a small hand punch with Wink of Stella added. I’m very pleased with it.

Just A Birthday Card

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for very good friend who likes my snarkyness. I recently posted a card with this sentiment, “You are far too special for just a birthday card so, Please do keep the envelope too.” My niece loved it.

Most of the cards with this layout on Pinterest had ribbon where I have the border. Embossing folder is Cuttlebug, border punch is an old Stampin Up (probably been retired for a long time). Gems are from my stash and I rounded 2 corners for a little interest.

Thank You Fox

Hello and welcome. Our sweet breakfast server is expecting her first baby, a boy. Both her and her husband were big fans of X-Files and decided early on that if they ever had a boy his name would be Fox. Since a dear friend of mine crochets and makes stuffed animals, I asked her to make a fox for me to give our server. Before making the card, I went online and found this square yarn border. That’s when I decided to make a 5×5 square card. Before printing it I added the thank you. After taking a picture of the fox I fussy cut it and stuck it in the middle. Hubby even thinks it cute.

CongraTULATIONS

Hello and welcome. My BFF since third grade asked me to make a congratulations card for her grandson-in-law. He just passed the test to become a US citizen. Pinterest had several layouts that would work and I liked this one the best. Card base is white. Top embossed layer backed by a dark blue layer, Embossing folder used is from Stampin Up, but I don’t remember the name. Sentiment was printed on the computer. Sentiment tag and red strips were cut on my paper trimmer and I hand cut the ends of the sentiment tag. Stars were cut on the Silhouette.

Turkey Headband

Hello and welcome. Today’s post is a headband. My daughter is a pre-school (3-5 year olds) teacher and asked if I could come up with a project the kids could do with their grandparents on grandparents day in Nov. Between Pinterest and Google I found a template for this pattern. After several times of resizing all the pieces I finally got the right size. After printing the head & face on scrap paper I traced and then fussy cut them. When it came to the feathers, I found it was much better to print on colored cardstock. The feathers and wobbler are edged with a black Copic marker. And of course, I just had to use googly eyes. The band is 1 1/2″ wide. I’m sending her the template so she can have the parent helpers trace and cut the pieces for the kids to just put together.

Birthday Snark

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for my niece. Like me, she likes to make snarky cards too.

Background paper was found online. After rounding the corners, I edged the piece with a Copic marker so the edges blended in. Sentiment “You are far too special for just a card so please do keep the envelope too.” was found on Pinterest. A very quick and easy card.

Fall Birthday

Hello and welcome. The first layer on the card base was run through my crimper, pp was in my stash. Dies used, with no name, were bought on Amazon. I like the torn edge look of these dies. Sentiment was printed in my Hallmark card program. I can’t decide if I like it or not. Maybe your opinions will help me decide.

Field Of Sunflowers

Hello and welcome. I thought it was about time I made a split front card again. Field of sunflowers is computer clip art, sunflowers on fence are from an online coloring page. The flowers on the fence were colored with Copic markers and fussy cut. The top flowers on the fence are popped up. Fence strips were run through a woodsy ef by The Paper Studio.
