Deer, trees, and snow

I created a fun card that will work for several challenges.

First challenge is Mod Squad with the animal themed holiday. I made this deer to have a red nose like Rudolph. This is definitely a Christmas themed card with the lights and red nose. I didn’t have a suitable Merry Christmas that would really fit, so I went with the greetings from the stamp set. This stamp set is Snow Wonderful by Your Next Stamp.

Second Challenge is Double D with trees. This evergreen tree was blended with a stencil from Newton’s Nook, called Evergreen. I cut a small portion of the trees out to use on this card.

The Third challenge is Make My Monday Challenge with Cute Christmas. I think this image with the girl and her reindeer are cute. It was fun to color.

The Fourth challenge is Global Design Project with Christmas. This card will be mailed for Christmas.

The snowflake background was created with a die from The Stamps of Life. I used and glitter cardstock placed on a blue background. Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops were added to the snowflakes, the tree, the lights, the reindeer nose, and the greeting.

This was fun card to create. I was thrilled to find several challenges to share this with. Thanks for looking and reading this long post.

Love and laughter

I had an idea for the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge, so quickly I began stamping.

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2021/11/challenge-446-colours.html

I used the stamp set Forever Greenery by Stampin’Up. I placed a mask in the center with Mint tape from Scrapbook dot com. It worked well for the mask as it came off easily. I did have to use a brush to remove a bit of embossing powder before heat setting. The greenery is stamped in Mossy Meadow. Some of the images were stamped off, so they were stamped with second generation stamping, giving the greenery a few different tones of color. I used Polished Pink for the small dots. This is the perfect anniversary card and there are a couple family anniversaries coming, so it will go out soon.

Autumn gnome

While all of the supplies were out, I created an Autumn gnome for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Gnome

The acorns are from The Stamps of Life. I found this patterned paper in my stash.

gnome christmas card

I made a card with Falliday Fest and Splitcoast Stampers where the challenge is to place a gnome on the card for a holiday. I chose Christmas and made a punch art gnome.

Punch Art Christmas Gnome

I used paper from Celebrate Christmas with Echo Park for the background and greeting. The greeting is from a set from The Stamps of Life, snowglobe2stamp. I used punches to create the gnome. The feet are punched with SU Perennial Flower punch, the body with an SU Ornament punch, the nose with a 5/8 inch circle punch, and the beard with a leaf die from a hibiscus set, and the hat is a Spellbinders triangle die. I had a snowflake eyelet in my stash which worked for the hat decoration. The snowflake in the background is from a Cherry Lynn die. I had snowflake embellishment to add.

I had fun creating this. I found the directions from Dawn Olchefske on a Pinterest post.

Christmas penguins

I have been coloring penguins for the Gina K Designs challenge using critters on your card. The current challenge at Just Us Girls is a mini Slimline card, so I will add this card to that challenge.

I used the set Tis the Sea-Sun stamp set for the penguins and greeting. The inside reads Christmas. I made a mini-slimline card. I saw this idea on Pinterest from the blog hop posted when this was introduced in 2017, I think. Clair Brennan used this paper and paper pieced her penguins, so I followed her idea. They are fun critters to color and create a card with, but difficult to photograph when all we are having is gloomy days. The patterned paper is quite shiny, so I kept getting a glare. I think this is acceptable to post. It was fun to create. I am adding this to Just Us Girls Tend Week – mini Slimline cards.

Crafty hugs

I created a card to send to a person receiving treatment for Breast Cancer. She is in process and ready to begin radiation soon. This was a request at Splitcoast Stampers. I hope this card brightens her day and takes her mind off of things for a short time.

Crafty Hugs

This card has a lot of pink. This person loves pink and this occasion fits pink. This pink is Polished Pink, which is a current In-Color from Stampin Up. Most of the marker colors are this year’s In-Colors with the neutral colors of tan and gray mixed in. I used a kit from Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System from August 2020. I tried the club sets for a while, but was not learning quickly so stopped receiving them. This person is a hair dresser, so the request also mentioned adding scissors. I knew scissors were on this plate, so I thought it would be a good option for the card. She is also crafty and makes cards when she is well.

I have been learning the Hot Foil System and having success. The paper is the key. I am using Hammermill paper most of the time. It works wonderfully and I have had success more time than not with this paper. Gina K Designs paper also works well when using colored paper as it has a smooth finish. I have had a few hiccups with that paper and a solid plate to foil, but most of the time, those cardstocks give good results. Taking photos of the foiled cards are tricky. I received help getting a successful photo where the sentiment was readable.

Thanks for sharing in my card that I feel is a foiling success.

Golden bells

I used older stamps on this card with the Retro Rubber Challenge in mind.

https://www.retrorubberchallengeblog.com/my-blog/2021/10/challenge-169-anything-goes.html

I used two stamp sets in this card: SU Blended Seasons (2018) and GKD Christmas Greenery (2016). This card has a lot of gold on it as it is also part of the MISTI Monday Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers where the celebration of the 50th challenge is going on and gold is the theme.

The Blended Seasons stamp set is red rubber, so the foliage will not curve easily, so my wreath is not as round as a photopolymer stamp would produce. The gold in the bells and foliage were colored with a gold gel pen. I made my own gold paper with embossing powder.

Fall fun landscape

I enjoyed creating this scene card. I borrowed a set from my daughter to create this fun card.

https://blog.yournextstamp.com/challenge-169-set-the-scene-comment-for-the-chance-to-win/

This is my first time playing in a Your Next Stamp Challenge. The set used is called Scarf Weather by YNS. I wanted something to color that is full of Autumn, so this set was loaned to accomplish my goal. The patterned paper used is Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather. I am fairly sure the paper pack is no longer available as I have had it a few years. It seemed perfect to use for creating my scene. After laying items out, my daughter suggested a fence in the background. I have a Gina K Design Fence die, so it was cut from the same paper pack.

This card is also going to the Splitcoast Stampers Crafter’s of Faith group monthly challenge. This month the verse is Isaiah 44:23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the Lord hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
Let’s show the vibrant glory of God’s handiwork in the earth when it’s autumn. The colors of the leaves on the trees as they die and let go and show us how beautiful it is to let go!

I love the set as it has so many fun characters and a lot of leaves. I used the matching dies for cutting most of the images then used my scissors on a few of the leaves.
