A sparkly glittery patterned paper from Parklane’s Patriotic pad is the background for my karate girl image located on line and fussy cut, layered on some circles and a gold rosette. Sentiment is Taylored Expressions. Our youngest granddaughter competed in a karate tournament and ending winning GOLD! This card was mailed to her this past week and will be shared with:
My gatefold card design uses a double-sided sheet of Creative Imaginations Iron Orchid Designs patterned paper from my stash. The Taylored Epxressions Framed Flowers focal image was stamped, color and die cut with TE’s Arched Stacklets dies.
My card today is a two for one or maybe eight for four???? Taylored Expressions Create in Quads Poster Prints layering stencil was used to create my card. The two-fer occurred when I used one sheet of TE’s perforated paper with a piece of plain cardstock underneath it. While stenciling on the perforated paper, some of the ink from the holes goes through to the plain cardstock underneath the perforated sheet. When all layers are inked, I removed the perforated layer, realigned the stencil on the plain cardstock and using the ink on the stencil blended once again. It’s a pretty cool effect but I probably needed to apply more elbow grease as not all of the dots came through to the plain panel. Create in Quads stencils make four card fronts and just need to be cut apart. It was fun to make and have eight card fronts. Also used was TE’s Arch die set, So Many Reasons stamp/die gift with purchase for the sentiment. A subtle background tone on tone was used for the arched background for the perforated card and the second card a Sizzix embossing folder.
New month and a new Halloween card! My card today was created by taking inspiration from this month’s mood board. The background paper is from Whimsy Stamps’ Pink Autumn patterned paper, Tim Holtz/Sizzix Trick or Treat 2 bats were stamped amongst the trees, Tim Holtz/Sizzix ghoulish skeleton die was cut out in white and also in black to add a shadow layer, Taylored Expressions Squiggle Stacklets and Stain’ Alive sentiment stamp and die and Art Impressions A2 Double Stitched rectangle die was also used on my card.
Two Mother’s Day cards for our daugther and daughter in law. The bottom card was the first one completed and the top was tweaked a bit. Using Gina K Designs Watercolor Garden patterned paper and Payful Posies (top) dies, Taylored Expressions branch out die (bottom), Martha Stewart triple butterfly punch. The focal patterned paper is a “floating” strip circle.
My cards today will be shared with two challenges:
to us! 49 years on Thursday! I was struggling with what kind of card to make for Will and decided to go with a PennyBlack stamp. The red rubber wood mounted PennyBlack stamp is named “get together” so it’s a good fit. Sentiments are from Gina K Designs Lovely Notes Card kit and Fresh Petals stamp set. Postage dies are Taylored Expressions. Since I dug deep for this stamp, I guess it will fit with this challenge.
Last Friday was Will’s birthday and I wanted to share his card featuring “Baby” his 1964 Pontiac GTO.
I was happy with the way this one turned out and I think he was too. Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and stay safe.
For a color challenge of pastels, I decided to use Gina K Designs Lovely Lavender inks. I stamped the focal panel with SimonSaysStamp’s Gingham background stamp, inked in the Lovely Lavender, ink blended a panel in the lovely lavender and die cut, added Gina K Designs Scripty Sayings 2 sentiment and Taylored Expressions Fit & Flutter Hummingbird die to complete today’s card.
My card will be shared with the following challenge:
I had a plan!!! Thankfully I also had plan B whick was implemented to complete this card to my liking. I took my inspiration from this month’s mood board with the Two Old Bats Challenge. I pulled out a variety of product including Gina K Designs Haunts & Harvest stamp set, Whimsy Stamps Keyhold & Keys dies, AI Double Stitch Rectangle dies, Taylored Expressions Postage Stamp dies and Birch Tree Border die, Hero Arts Bats background stamp, Distress Oxide inks in Twisted Citron, Chipped Sapphire, Weathered Wood and Black Onyx. The bat background that was stamped in versamark and heat embossed in clear embossing powder then ink blended with the DO inks did not quite do it for me but used it as the keyhole with a piece of vellum on top of it. I inked a new background, die cut the birch trees, key hole, a few bats and my black cat. I added some color to the cat’s eyes and a few stars for the background.
Thanks to Two Old Bats for choosing my card last month as a Top 3 and also our Stamp Buddy Gerry’s card was a Top 3 too!! YAY for us Halloween lovers.
And yes, we are experiencing April Showers with a bit of thunder and lightning as I’m posting my card. This Penny Black slapstick stamp named Sunshine in the Rain has been in my stash for years and I was happy to bring it out of it’s storage box. Some light coloring and Taylored Expressions Wavy Stitch Stacklets for a bit of a border detail. I am hopeful that this will be accepted as a CAS card so I can share it with:
