Today’s card uses Gina K Designs Frangipani layering stencil and carnation inks, GKD Fresh Petals sentiment which was part of Lovely Notes card kit from January 2023 and Taylored Expressions Dragon Tales.
Pink is for my dear friend who will be celebrating 4 years breast cancer free this November and dragonflies have special meaning. This card will be shared in the:
A face only a mother or a good friend would love!!!! Unity Stamps Suns Out, Sass Out Pissy Kitty is my focal image on this summer card. Simon Hurley’s Sunrays layering stencil and Taylored Expressions Cool Pool Rotating stencil were used for my background. Kitty stamped image was masked off for the rays and pool stenciling. The TE Mini Bows die was used to cover up a bit of overstenciling. This card is for a good friend’s birthday coming up in July. She loves being in the pool or at a beach and I believe she will get a kick out of this card.
It’s the 50th year anniversary for the movie JAWS! Even though I knew that shark was coming, I still ended up screaming each time! I’m only going ankle deep in the water from now on! Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and stay safe……and cool!
I am getting close to done with my Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy 2025 virtual classes from March and this was a favorite card of mine. Normally I am a rule person, however the class card design was an easel card with a calendar and notepad. It was really cute but I really only like to make cards that I can send out to people and was pretty sure that one would just sit on my desk. So using the 3D embossing folder from The Fluttering Friends set some versamark ink and diamond embossing powder, I completed the class background. The butterfly backer was included in the class and the stamped butterfly was a stamp/die set made for this class. Unfortunately my “blue raspberry” from Gina K does not match the TE blue raspberry but I’m sending it anyway.
We are expecting the first heat wave of the summer so I’m hoping to complete the last Stamp Joy class which featured interactive cards. Saving the hardest for last……then I’m moving onto Summer School which is all about foiling. Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, stay cool and stay safe.
Awww….to be on a floatie with maybe an umbrella drink in hand seems to be a great way to kick off summer. It was hot enough to imagine myself on this pink flamingo floatie from Stampendous! My rippling waves were created with a Recollections layering stencil. The sentiment was originally stamped directly on the vellum but it got lost in the waves so I stamped on white and fussy cut for an extra pop. The floatie is on an action wobbler, too.
My card today will be shared with the following summer challenges:
The roller coaster weather continues as it will be cooler on Friday and lead into another rainy weekend. Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and stay safe.
I was quite surprised to find that Michael’s has a new line of layering stencils, embossing folders, stamps and dies. The first thing I decided on was this layering butterfly stencil which lined up quite nicely. The other nice surprise is the June color challenge is Aquablue which is a favorite color of mine too. I pulled out my aquablues and teal inks of which I have a lot to choose from and got started on my card. A touch of yellow was included in my design. Crossstitch rectangle stacklet from Taylored Expressions was added to my background.
My card today will be shared with two of my favorite monthly challenges with their very inspiring mood boards:
Summer and strawberries goes together like summer and watermelon??? LOL! My focal image uses Taylored Expressions Berry Sweet layering stencil & clear stamp combo. My strawberries were ink blended using TE’s “watermelon” ink!!! Get It!!!! My background panel was also ink blended in Watermelon ink on light pink cardstock is also a TE Trendy Triangles stencil. Sentiment is part of the stencil/stamp combo set and the bunch of fussy cut strawberries ( not watermelon ink) were colored with prismacolor pencils with some glossy accents for extra shine was from Gina K’s Enjoy the Sunshine StampTV Kit from many years ago.
With double stenciling with a summer vibe my card will be shared in the:
I am having a lot of fun with the new Gina K Designs StampTV Kit from May with this Ruffled Blooms stamp, stencil, die and 3D embossing folder set. On my card today I used the 3D embossing folder and the stencils. Not sure why it’s always difficult to add a sentiment but my Hello was an afterthought and glad it worked as I stamped it over the embossed stem to cover a bit of a pink instead of green stem. It is kind of sort of CAS and so I am sharing my card today with:
Ivory, gold and lace pretty much reminds me of a wedding or an anniversary or maybe just sending love. My patterned paper is from my stash and it seemed to pop out and scream ‘use me‘ so I did. I liked the subtle floral background and a lacey kind of vibe to it. After cutting the panels into 1″ pieces, they were added to a piece of Michael’s Recollections Gold Shimmer cardstock. Thankfully the glue did not adhere too quickly as I removed and replaced these panels a number of times until they seemed to be straight and equally spaced to my eyes. Added a piece of lacey ribbon from my stash, an unbranded die and Gina K Designs love sentiment cut and layered three times.
Ivory and kraft! Add a new Gina K Designs Ruffled Blooms stamp, die, and 3D embossing folder along with a Hero Arts Wood Frame Infinity die to complete my card today.
