Ivory, Gold & Lace

Ivory, gold and lace pretty much reminds me of a wedding or an anniversary or maybe just sending love. My patterned paper is from my stash and it seemed to pop out and scream ‘use me‘ so I did. I liked the subtle floral background and a lacey kind of vibe to it. After cutting the panels into 1″ pieces, they were added to a piece of Michael’s Recollections Gold Shimmer cardstock. Thankfully the glue did not adhere too quickly as I removed and replaced these panels a number of times until they seemed to be straight and equally spaced to my eyes. Added a piece of lacey ribbon from my stash, an unbranded die and Gina K Designs love sentiment cut and layered three times.

I did make a little twist in this challenge by putting my frame behind my focal image.

Wicked legs

I always try to find inspiration and use the mood board when playing in challenges and this month I was immediately drawn to the striped legs and red shoes image. Who wouldn’t want legs like that? I located my Colorado Craft Company Lovely Legs Sitting Witch stamp and die and got started. The sentiment is from the same set this card may fit better with a slimline card, however, I am not the biggest fan of those and prefer the more traditional size.

Summer Waves

9 minutes and 14 seconds start to finish for my card today with a water theme. If it’s not raining, it is summertime hot and humid so I felt the need for an ocean shoreline scene for some cool serenity. Using Taylored Expressions Sandy Shores split background stamp everything was aligned in my Misti removing the sand (bottom portion) and inking the ocean water with TE’s cookie monster ink which stamped so nicely on the first try. Then putting the sand portion in place and removed the top part and stamped in TE’s toffee ink. This was a little more splotchy at first so inked it twice. Next came my silhouette images which are a Gina K Designs go to Vintage Summer card kit Ocean Silhouettes set for me. Once again thank goodness for the Misti, aligned the bottom silhouette portion, then added a sentiment and the gulls stamping all in Versafine Black Onyx and decided to add one more silhouette palm tree for balance. Thank goodness my inky fingers didn’t make a mess on my image which was adhered to a kraft card base. If I had a bit more time, I would have added a bit of splatter. It’s always fun to play along with the Speed Challenge at:

Nutcracker!!

I was inspired by our Buddy Gerry to add some Christmas cards to my stash and then needed to take a page out of her book and search for an online nutcracker image. I searched quickly through my Christmas stamps and supplies and was quite surprised that I did not locate a nutcracker so off to the free on line coloring pages. After resizing this nutcracker, coloring, die cutting with a Gina K double stitched rectangle die, I adhered it to a piece of Recollection Christmas Plaids paper pack and mounted on a piece of kraft cardstock. Sentiment is a red rubber wood mounted Studio G stamp that was more than likely purchased from a ACMoore many, many years ago.

My card today will be shared with:

Happy Memorial Day and thank you to all those who have served in our military and especially to those who have given their lives for freedom. They will not be forgotten. Take care and stay safe on this unofficial first day of summer.

Jungle Giraffe

It’s a jungle out there!!!! Well this giraffe from an old red rubber mounted stamp from Great Impressions seems to be taking a break amongst the jungle plants. My jungle was die cut using Hero Arts Jungle Fancy Frame die to which I cut the middle out of the die leaving a border. Since it was a nice day with no rain (finally) I ink blended some yellow inks on Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzix sun rays embossing folder. It’s a pretty busy scene so I added a simple Spellbinder’s sentimen in gold shimmer cardstock. I thought the Hi would work because giraffe’s are really tall and can reach the highest branches……lol. The leaves were swiped with wink of stella for some shine that could mimic dew.

My card will be shared with:

Framed Wishes

Today’s card was made using Taylored Expressions Create In Quads Pattern Playground layering stencil, Peace Within dies, Dragon Tales dies and Sending sentiment stamp/die set. Using more masculine ink colors and background image but opted to add the framed leafy branch cut twice, once in the white and offset in a light soft gray cardstock while adding the tiny dragonfly in the frame corner makes this card more gender neutral now and I believe I can use for the guy or the girl. My card will be shared with a new to me challenge and thanks to Buddy Johanna for recommending it to me:

OffSet Gatefold

Today’s card was made using Taylored Expressions Party Pop stencil/3D embossing folder combo. This is part of TE’s Combo Club program for which I signed up. The stenciled/embossed side panel was left over from a card that uses the larger panel for an A2 card. Since the panel was not as wide as needed for the traditional gatefold fun car, I adjusted my folds. The larger panel was embossed. Sentiment is TE’s Ring Around the Words die but cut the circle away from the word die.

My card with the prominent sentiment will be share in:

May’s Lily of the Valley

After running a panel of Gina K Designs Cone Flower Garden poly-glaze foiling sheets through my Fuse laminating machine, I ink blended the panel with GKD orchid ink trios. Taylored Expressions May Lily of the Valley from A Year in Bloom was stamped, lightly colored, die cut and adhered to the focal panel. The TE Feature frame cut and layered 3 times was added to my card. Sentiment is GKD’s Lovely Notes card kit from January 2023. Each month TE adds a free gift with each order and this year the theme is A Year in Bloom. It seemed like the perfect time to use this with the theme for
