The Monday Technique on Splitcoast Stampers is all about the Fractured Card Technique. Buddy Gerry has been knocking this technique out of the park! I have had this tutorial for a few months but not had the nudge to work on it. Today was the day!! This will be entered in the Shopping Our Stash challenge to color our favorite way.

I used Lynn Dunn’s tutorial for my measurements: https://stamptasticdesigns.com/2023/08/09/fractured-card-technique/
The patterned paper is Hand Penned DSP by Stampin Up, retired. The floral image is from Reverse Confetti, Elegant Florals, also retired as RC closed last year. I colored the image using SU Blends in Mint Macaron and Pale Papaya, also adding Light Pink and Light Yellow Spectrum Noir Tri-blends. Usually alcohol markers is my go-to for coloring. I own a lot of other mediums, but I rarely reach for them first.
The cardstock base and strips are all Mint Macaron from Stampin Up. I cut the 1/4 inch strips with a Pink Fresh Studio strip die; it makes it so easy and all are straight cuts.

I enjoyed this technique. I was able to use scraps for the strips. I was also able to shop my stash, which I really like. The greeting is from a wood block set that rarely sees ink and the speckles are from an old set, again, rarely seeing ink. Thanks for stopping by and seeing this new to me, technique.

Great job love your coloring and the spots
Thank you! The spots were a fun addition. I just looked to see which set had spots. This one won!
Beautiful!!! You got that technique perfected. The colors are so bright and refreshing and your coloring is amazing.
Thank you! There seems to be several variations of this technique. I just followed the person’s video that I watched a few months ago and used her cutting guide. So easy!
This is lovely Lisa. I agree with Gerry you got this so right.
Thank you!
Lovely fractured card and coloring. The patterned paper is so pretty. SU does have some of the best patterned papers. Great idea to be able to shop your stash too.
Thank you! I agree on the patterned paper. This was given to me. The person was clearing out old to make room for new. It is a fun way to get beautiful paper without paying for it!
Beautiful! You and Gerry have definitely figured out this technique!
Thank you! There are a lot of variations of the stripes. I see cards where all of the patterned papers are different in each square. I haven’t decided if I want to try that way or just use this when I have the desire. It was fun to create.
Great job on this Lisa. It’s really pretty and different.
Thank you! I like creating different kinds of cards. I get a bit bored at times so I am always seeking the different kind of layout.
Way to go shopping your stash! Love the look you created with those scraps!! Good job on your coloring too…that detail flower stamp is perfect for our “Color Me Beautiful” challenge over at Shopping Our Stash. Glad you joined the fun and played along with us!! Deb Horst, DT #SOS506

Thank you!
Very pretty. It looks like such a fun and easy technique. Must give it a try.
Yes, it is a fun technique. Very easy. Just select a lovely sheet of paper or a few sheets that match, cut 1/4 inch strips, and away you go. There are many videos showcasing this technique. Thanks!
Great job on your fractured card design! And your beautifully colored element in the center matches the paper you chose perfectly.
Thank you! I tried matching the colors with the image to the paper.
