Roses in Red and Purple

This is my second card for today. I colored these roses several days ago and then got sidetracked with Halloween and other things. So, today I finished the roses card.

This card was created with the Color Hues in mind: https://colorhuesthecolorchallenge.blogspot.com/2023/09/special-challenge-lindseys-legacy-hop.html

I used SU gray for the cardbase, Accent white for the roses and the embossed shape. The stamp set used is Technique Tuesday Sending Roses along with coordinating dies. The shape was cut from SU Deco Labels and embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I added gems from Taylored Expressions (purple ones) and Stampin Up (red ones).

Today was the perfect day for me to post a rose card. It would have been my mother’s birthday and roses were her favorite flower. Each year, I would purchase a new rose set to use on her birthday card. This was a new set given to me, so I was thrilled to use it. I think my Mom would have preferred her roses to be just one color, but she would have enjoyed this card. Thanks for spending time with me and reading about my rose card.

    1. Thank you! I decided that gray was the best neutral for the leaves so then it would work well for the background. I like the roses. I plan to use them again hopefully sooner rather than later.

  1. Lovely roses and a wonderful memory of your mother. I like that gray cardbase with the white embossed die cut to balance out the two rose colors.

  2. What a wonderful way to pay tribute to your mom, Lisa. I love your roses too. I enjoyed reading your post and thanks for playing along with our special challenge at Color Hues.

    1. Thank you! I think of Mom a lot, but more in the Fall. She always visited me as a birthday present for her. Roses were her favorite as she had rose bushes are her house. I think it was the first thing planted when she moved.

  3. Gorgeous roses and oh, how pretty the soft grey for the leaves and background. A lovely card for your mom and our special friend, Lindsey. Thank you for joining us at Colour Hues.

    1. Thanks! Mom would like the roses red as she always planted red ones. I get yellow ones most of the time, so that is my go to colors for roses. Any color, roses are pretty and this set is a joy to color.
