Grateful

I am using items I have had in my stash for quite a while that have never seen ink or been used.

The stencil used is called Modern Holly by Taylored Expressions. I purchased a grab bag full of stencils a year ago and this is one that I hadn’t used. I chose to use gray as the base color as it is a neutral. The greeting Grateful for all you do is from a set by Gina K Designs, Fluttering Fall. It was a birthday gift last year and these pieces have never seen ink or been cut before. The butterfly is new from Your Next Stamp, which is closing, and was a inexpensive addition to the order placed recently.

The colors used to ink are Lawn Fawn inks: Manatee, Fake Tan, and Juice Box. The cardstock is from Gina K Designs.

This will be entered in Color Hues #71: https://colorhuesthecolorchallenge.blogspot.com/2023/09/color-hues-71-tangerine-and-violet.html

It will also be entered in Crazy is our Fame – Stencils are our Game September Stencil challenge. These colors are Fall themed, so I am sticking to the theme of the challenge.

I enjoyed using these colors to create a card. I also was thrilled to finally use items that I hadn’t gotten to use. I know of a challenge that the butterfly would fit, but I have another butterfly card in mind, so I will wait. Thanks for stopping by and sharing in my card.

    1. Thank you! This is a 3 layered stencil and I thought the neutral would be good for the first layer. I was afraid of too much brightness if I went with a purple tone on the bottom. I still have a lot to learn with the stencil set, but I enjoyed creating with it.

  1. Your layering stencil looks great with the color challenge and the added grey. So nice that you are using items from your stash.

    1. Thank you! Yes, I really need to use the many things I own. It is so satisfying to use what I own. I just need to keep reminding myself!

  2. I love the gray with the tangerine and violet and it makes such a lovely card! What a great way to combine some of your unused stash–and inspiration for the rest of us who have collections of unused products. Thanks for joining us at Color Hues!

    1. Thank you! I like the colors of the challenge and gray seemed to be a great neutral. I have a lot of unused stash, so am on a mission to use what I have.

  3. I adore this color combo and then your choice of light grey as your third color was brilliant! Gorgeous card! Thanks for playing along at Color Hues.

  4. I have several of her stencils and you can bet I’ll be adding gray as a base color. This is fabulous!!!! Thanks so much for playing with us at Color Hues! — Jules

    1. Thank you! I do like the gray. When it was finished, it seemed like the best pairing. I thought tan at first, then decided to go with gray.

  5. What a good idea to use gray as the base color. It works perfectly for the addition of the challenge colours. A beautiful card Lisa.

  6. You’ve created a pretty version of Modern Holly; the grey plays so nicely with the tangerine and violet. Beautiful card! I have a number of TE stencils; they’re wonderful fun! Thank you for joining us at Colour Hues.

    1. Thanks! I was happy I tried the gray. I have a few TE stencils and I agree with you. They are easy to use and look fantastic when inked.
