What’s Cooking

Today was the day to post my card for the Challenge Your Stash group at Split Coast Stampers. The theme is What’s Cooking? I have the perfect stamp set with the same name from Hero Arts, dated 2009. This card will also work for the Make My Monday Challenge of Hobbies.

I enjoy cooking and it can be a hobby. I read cookbooks and spend time thinking of how to create the dish and will it get eaten if I go to the work to create it. I used patterned paper from Gina K Designs with the pumpkins to paper piece the apron and add a mat to the greeting. The utensils were all fussy cut, colored with alcohol markers first. The background has images that were stamped with embossing ink. The cardstock used is Red Velvet from Gina K Designs.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing in my hobby card.

  1. This is such a fun card, Lisa. The paper pieced apron is another great way to use your patterned paper stash. I love looking and collecting recipes, too. I, however, think I have more collected than I prepared.

    1. Thanks! I had a huge cookbook collection, but I really did not cook from most of them. I donated quite a few several years back. I print a lot of recipes from online.

    1. This is a fun apron. Funny thing is I do not use aprons nor do I own any. I do enjoy cooking, though. Thanks!

  2. Love this, Lisa! Cooking can totally be a hobby, especially in this non-cooking age, lol. Such a great set – love this apron and tools! Thanks so much for playing at Make My Monday!

    1. Thank you, Heather. It can really cost a lot of you purchase all of those expensive tools. I think it could rival my craft room if I really went nuts with kitchen tools. I cook but not as much as I dream about using those lovely tools and such. Thanks!!

  3. A great take on the challenge Lisa. Love the apron – I do use one occasionally but most of the time I forget.

    1. Thanks! I like pretty aprons, but do not spend the money. Mom had a drawer full of them, but not sure where they went when she passed.

    1. Thanks! I am searching for ways to use this paper. Paper piecing can be a nice way to use these patterns. Yes, the change in temp is nice, but it is too early. It should still be very hot and humid for a few weeks.

  4. So many fun techniques here – paper piecing, creating your own background, hand cutting and coloring… This was a lot of work to create, and it came out great!
