Seas the Gull

A nautical themed challenge and the required embossing folder had me searching Pinterest for some extra inspiration. My card has bits and pieces from several different nautical cards that peaked my interest. The embossed panel is a Darice woodgrain folder which I opted to used the debossed side for my card. The ocean scene was die cut from some of my favorite patterned paper and layered on a kraft die cut circle. The gull is Gina K Designs red rubber Little Things mini stamp set that was stamped in brown ink and fussy cut. I decided not to color in the gull on his perch but added a grouping of seagulls using GKD’s By the Sea and finally found a small sentiment from a Stampin Up set Blossoms in Bloom to complete my card.

I will be sharing my card today with

Can You Handle the Pressure?: Anything goes with an optional theme of nautical and the required embossing folder. It’s always fun to play along with this challenge and their themes.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, be safe and stay cool!

  1. OH WOW … this turned out amazing! What a fun design and I agree with not coloring the gull … he’s perfect perched upon the post overlooking the ocean! WELL DONE and fabulous inspiration! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Can You Handle the Pressure challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.

  2. Very cool card. That stamp is an oldie but goodie. The sentiment is perfectly placed on top of the water.

  3. have that same stamp and agree it is an oldie but goodie. Love your scene, it is so peaceful. The paper you used is so realistic.

    1. Thanks, Johanna, it’s becoming fun to shop my stash. That patterened paper pack has really great scenes in it. A find from Michaels awhile back.

  4. I love the colors and the layout on this! The seagull and stump in front of the “porthole” view is fabulous. Great job on it Gayle.

    1. Thanks Golda, I originally embossed my panel using kraft but I’m glad I switched to the blue.

  5. I love this Gayle, it’s just fabulous with that seagull and the ocean in the background. Lots of wonderful work here, and great take on the challenge. Thanks so much for playing along with us over at Can You Handle the Pressure, hope we see you back again soon.
