Red, White, Red, White!

Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge #33

Most Magical Time of the Year Challenge #5

I always seem to run out of time for tags by the time I finish all of my Christmas cards so thought I would make a start with a tag to day for the Peace on Earth challenge. Their mood board seemed to be perfect for that idea. Using Spellbinders Classic Hearts and Classic Scalloped Heart dies, I started my process using shimmer cardstock from my Michaels. I layered red, white scallop and red for a backer, added Tim Holtz Sizzix large Funky Festive poinsettia dies and the word Joy from Stamp of Approval Merry Labels set. Then I thought that this was a pretty large tag and why not turn it into a card!! White, again, cut the heart die off the fold to create card back. After adding a few gems in green, I’m think it was more appropriate for a card. What do you think?

I am also sharing my card with the Most Magical Time of the Year blog where challenges are Anything Goes Christmas or Halloween. This is a sister challenge of the Paper Dragonfly Creative Challenges blog.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

  1. I feel as the others do. The tag was a good idea, but the card gives it something special. Love it a lot.

  2. Cute! I like the heart shaped card. That is something I wouldn’t have thought to do for a holiday other than Valentine’s Day. Perfect for Christmas!

    1. Thanks, Lisa, I was taking my inspiration from the mood board. I thought it was a little to large for a tag and was glad I turned it into a card.

  3. This is beautiful! Love all the shimmer. It looks great as a shaped card. I love when a project morphs from what was originally planned into a different, final project. Now you already have the idea to create a (similar) tag without much thought. A “two for one” if you will – lol!

  4. What do I think? Well, I think this is just gorgeous! What a clever overall design! Simply awesome my friend! Beautiful inspiration (once again!). Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Peace On Earth challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.

P.S. Did you hear the news? We have another new challenge blog we’d love to have you come check out and play along in. It all begins on March 3, 2023. It’s called Triple B. Fun with Birds, Butterflies & Blooms. Would love to have you pop over! Appreciate your support!

  5. Beautiful!!! Great idea to make the tag into a card. I never would have thought of a heart shaped card for Christmas, but it really works.
