My dog ate my homework and I needed to start over! Wait, I don’t have a dog and I can’t even blame it on the cat either. LOL….I’ve fallen a little behind with the Spring CardCamp 2022 lessons but hopefully will catch up with a little cramming.
Day 3 hosted by Kristina Werner was Gel Press Cards and getting 2-For-1 Inked backgrounds and even a 3rd one. The above card came off the gel press and the one below was made by rolling off the ink on my brayer on another piece of cardstock. I did have a 3rd background after spraying the gel press with water, letting it dry, then adding some more ink over a stencil but it wasn’t my favorite so I’ll be saving that until I decide what I want to do with it. Maybe spray it with more water!!! I may be a little heavy handed with both the ink and the brayer but all in all it was a fun project.

After running the embossing folder through my Big Shot, I swiped on a little Distress Oxide ink to the tree would be visible.
Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.
Good job on the homework. I never thought of just embossing the Botanical Edger stamp over a background – it really looks cool. Love how the tree turned out in the second card. I’m not only behind on homework, I’m behind on videos.
Thanks, Judy, I’m not very good at coloring so I like to use this edger on a ink blended background.
These look great! I haven’t tried this at all. I worked on Day 4, but it was not working. I need to select a different stencil. Either way, I am enjoying class whether I complete anything or not.
Thanks, Lisa, I agree. I, too, am enjoying the classes.
My heart be still over these fantastic efforts. You rocked the gel press. On your third bg, try adding more stencils and stamps in black and white, that usually gives me a working piece to spring board for an other masterpiece.
Thanks for the advice on my leftover panel. I will try layering it up.
These are both so beautiful. The botanical looks of the first one is amazing and it’s great the way you made the tree stand out
Thanks, Gerry, I appreciate your support.
Great job on this Gayle! Love that you got 3 backgrounds out of it. Your cards are both beautiful. Sometimes the heavy hand with the ink is a great choice, so you can change it up, if needed or desired. Plus, color is just fun.
Thanks, Golda, I need a little more work with the gel press I think but it was fun playing with it and inks.
