Red and Purple Background

I used the Double Stencil technique Gina K demonstrated in a recent video.. I brushed Wild Lilac in over the Sunshine stencil, using the  mask from the stencil in the center. Then I brushed Red Hot over the Fizzy stencil. The sentiment is from Happy Birthday to You, part of the Birthday Essentials kit from 2015, stamped in Wild Lilac. I used a Wild Lilac mat on a Red Hot card base. I’m entering this in the current Mod Squad Challenge, which is to let the background be the focal image, the  Color Hues challenge to use Red and Purple, and the trend for the Just Us Girls challenge is to use and inked or sprayed background.

    1. Thanks Lisa. I was checking challenges and realized one card could work for several. The double stenciling is a lot of fun and a great way to stretch the use of the stencils.

  1. Love that you combined both Color Hues and Just Us Girls! Awesome card! I love that you did dots and stripes! Thanks for playing at both challenges!

  2. Perfect stencil choices for the double stenciling technique. I think the technique really made those colors work together.

  3. This is fabulous Judy. Both stencils work well together and you made the colours work beautifully. Great job on getting 1 card to fit 3 challenges.

    1. Thanks Johanna. I’m always pleased when I can make one card fit for several challenges. And I need some birthday cards in my stash.

  4. What a fun technique, that Gina is so stinkin’ creative……and so are YOU!!! Lots of wonderful work here, and great take on the challenge. Thanks so much for playing along with us this time over at The Mod Squad.
