The challenge with the Make the Cards Challenge blog #35 is Country Life + Buffalo Plaid. So for today’s card, I decided that my sunflower will represent my country life and created not quite buffalo plaid stenciled background in blue to enter my card into this challenge.
Using Taylored Expressions Wheatfield Dreams stamp set and coordinating die, I colored the sun flower with markers and colored pencils mounting it on a vellum oval die cut from classic Spellbinders oval nestabilities. The plaid stencil is also from Taylored Expressions and was inked in GKD’s powder blue and navy inks. The sentiment which was gold heat embossed is GKD’s Skeleton Leaves.
Fun challenge. Thanks for stopping in for a peek. Hope everyone had a great day. Stay Safe.
Beautiful! Love the sunflower. The blue plaid works great with the sunflower.
Thanks, Lisa, this was a new set from Taylored Expressions and wanted to give it a try.
Beautiful sunflower! And love the blue plaid!
Thanks, Diana.
Your color combo is very fun, not traditional fall but very gorgeous.
Yes a non traditional fall color card but I liked the way the blue plaid turned out with the sunflower. Maybe it’s a blue plaid sky background….LOL….I never know where my thinking is heading.
Gayle, I love your plaid background you did. That sunflower is beautiful, as well. Layering the sunflower on the vellum is a beautiful touch.
Thanks, Golda, I sometimes forget to add those little extra touches to my cards.
Beautiful sunflower on that lovely blue plaid. Love the vellum oval backing the sunflower.
Thanks, Gerry, I was looking for a color and blue kept on popping up.
That’s a very pretty sunflower, and I think it looks great with the soft vellum backing. Thank you for joining our challenge this week at Make the Cards!
Such a sweet card, love your stenciled background! I just received this stamp set and can’t wait to play with it! Thanks for playing with us at Make the Cards Challenge!
Thanks for a fun challenge and I appreciate your comments.
