Butterfly Repeat

July challenge at A Blog Named Hero is to Repeat Yourself. I pulled out an old Hero Arts set and stamped a trio of butterflies.

I used a stamp and die set labeled Hero Arts/Sizzix Butterflies 3; I saw it on Amazon labeled Antique Butterflies. It comes with flowers and 3 sizes of butterflies in red rubber stamps along with matching dies. I chose the largest butterfly to stamp and die cut.

I used Gina K Designs inks in the colors Blue Lagoon, Coral Reef, and Tranquil Teal. I used Tranquil Teal cardstock for the layer you see. I used a Stampin’ Up Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder to add florals to the background. the butterflies are stamped and embossed with clear embossing powder and popped up for dimension.

I chose to leave the greeting off of the front as I really have no room for one. It has been a long time since I have pulled out my Hero Arts stamps and I enjoyed using them. They were the first brand of stamps that I purchased 20 years ago.

  1. Love the bright cheery colors and butterflies are always a hit with me. Your 3D embossing folder is so pretty and give just the right amount of texture to your background.

  2. You can’t go wrong with butterflies and the colors you chose are so pretty together. The embossed background really makes the butterflies standout. This is perfect for any occasion.

    1. Thank you, Judy! I love butterflies and this seemed like the perfect ones to stamp and cut. I saw this idea on Lisa Curcio where she used SU butterflies with this embossing folder. My butterflies were larger, so I had to change the size and leave the sentiment off, but it is very close to her design. My butterflies were stamped and ready, then I got her PDF and knew how to finish the card.

    1. Thanks! I forgot all about these challenges till I saw a video where the person was submitting to this challenge. Love Hero Arts and I own a lot, so now I will pay attention.
