CAS Butterfly Mini

I love color challenges and knew I had the colors for the current CAS Colors & Sketches challenge. The colors are Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze all Stampin Up Regal Colors.

I used stamps and dies from My Favorite Things for the butterflies and greeting, Spread Your Wings. As I looked I found we had very old inks for each of these colors and two of the markers, one of which is almost worn out. I used matching cardstock to cut the butterfly base. I inked the butterflies with Versamark ink and either the SU ink pad, marker, or a substitute color. I substituted Faded Brick by Gina K Designs for Cajun Craze. It is not an exact match but worked well inked on vellum and placed over the cardstock. The patterned paper is a retired set in the pumpkin pie color. I added a few gems from my stash and called the card complete.

  1. Your efforts to add all the layers to your butterflies really paid off. The colors seemed a bit autumnal but now they look like summer.

  2. Great take on the color challenge and adding those butterflies definitely gave your card a summer vibe. So very pretty.

    1. Thanks! I saw Autumn and I really wanted something more fun and the butterflies arrived on my door on Saturday, so they were calling to be used.

    1. The butterfly set is a cute set. There are 4 butterflies in the set and I only used one here. Will have to create something else with all of them. Thanks!
