July Birthday Stripes

The Paper Players PP548

Anne Marie is hosting A Theme Challenge one The Paper Players Challenge blog and it’s Stars and/or Stripes.

And although I love the red, white and blue on the inspiration photo, I decided to do stripes in ivory and black on a white cardstock base. I finally decided to get inky with Gina K Designs’ A Little Hello Layering stencil bundle. It’s a set of three layering stencils, dies and a stamp set. The sentiment is from the A Little Hello stamp set which was part of the bundle.

Thanks to the reminder email from the group about there still being time to play as this was created earlier and sat on my desk. I believe this card will be going to my SIL for her birthday at the end of July.

Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping in for a peek.

  1. Beautiful card. I live the yellow flowers against the black stripes. I haven’t had a chance to play with the Little Hello yet, so I’m glad to have some inspiration.

  2. I always think stripes make for a great deal of visual interest and adding the yellow flowers on top of the black stripes works so well visually. I agree with the others it is elegant.

    1. Thanks, Johanna. I keep on cutting strips of cardstock with the hope that I’ll use them.

  3. Love those ivory and black stripes, Gayle. They create such a beautiful textured background for your perfectly placed flowers. Thank you for joining us at the Paper Players this week.

  4. I agree with the others, very elegant. Love the ivory & black stripes with the yellow flowers over the black.

  5. Oh, I just love how those bright and cheery blossoms pop against the back stripes. Such a gorgeous card, in every way. Thanks so much for joining us this week over at The Paper Players!
