Virtual Stamp Night Mini

Each quarter, Split Coast Stampers has a Virtual Stamp Night where challenges are posted every hour or two over a 2 day period. Prior to this is a Mini challenge, where 3 challenges are posted. The Spring theme is The Great Outdoors. Following are my cards for the mini challenges.

VSNMini1

This challenge needed music and a tree in a park like setting. I used Sittin Tree by Maymay Made It for my tree with the bird feeder. Shroeder plays his music under the tree. Notes from My Favorite Things are flying through the air while the paino is being played.

VSNMini2

This challenge needed butterflies. I found an idea on Pinterest with this SU Butterfly Basics set, so I went with it. I liked how this card turned out. All sets used are SU.

VSNMini3

The third card is to have a snowy mountain. I used two SU sets to complete this card. Once again, I went to Pinterest for an idea. I stamped in Bristol paper and watercolored.

The key to these challenges is that the card has to be completed in one hour, and preparatory work is not included in that hour. I find having cut card bases and possibly layers sitting around helps when trying to complete several card in a short time period.

  1. These are great cards, Lisa. All different themes but a lot of details achieved in your time limit. Have fun creating with your Virtual Stamp Night.

    1. Thanks! Not sure if I will participate, but I did enjoy the mini ones. You have around 4 weeks to complete the mini ones.

  2. Each of these are fantastic cards! The first is such a fun one that made me smile. I love how you stamped a silhouette in green behind your pretty flower and 3D butterfly on the second. It gives it a full flower field/bed look. That snowy mountain card is just beautiful. I love the glittery snow.

    1. Thank you! They were all fun. I spread these out over several days. I struggled with the snow, till I saw the Nuvo drops sitting these and remembered they are glitter and could look like snow.

    1. Thanks! Yes, the rules say in an hour. Basically I make a sketch or have a plan and lay it all out. The butterfly was the second one I did, so I had already gone through the process and was able to get it down in the time. I used my Misti’s a lot and left clean up till after a card. It took several days or even a few weeks, but I waited to post them all together to the blog.

    1. Thank you! This card went out in the mail today going to a lady who has brain cancer. She was highlighted on Splitcoast Stampers for cards and she loves music. I really enjoyed creating it.

  3. All three are just wonderful cards. Schroeder is so cute; mountain one is so beautiful with the soft background. The butterfly one is so gorgeous and I was so happy opening that envelope.

    1. Thanks Gerry! Your card was the first one I made with that set, and it took longer than one hour. Then I tried again, since I did a trial run, and used a different set for the greeting. That is the only way I know the difference. So glad it arrived and you like it. I was a bit late sending it out.

  4. Great cards Lisa. All different but all interesting. I really like the first one with the musical notes and the tree.
