I am having a lot of fun with the My Monthly Hero Kit from January 2021. This large floral image is such a lot of fun to color. I used Prismas: 956 Lilac, 952 Violet, 1005 Limepeel, 1006 Kelly Green, 1082 Chocolate. I used the matching die to cut the colored image and cut three more from junque white to add dimension. I embossed a white panel using a 5×7 Honeycomb EF by Cuttlebug, then lightly swiped my Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink pad to add color. The sentiment is from Mini Tag Sentiments by Divinity Designs and fit perfectly in the honeycomb. I added a foam square to the bee’s wings for dimension. The card panel is a deep purple from my stash Here are a couple of other cards I made with this kit.

This is a great card
So much color and each one has that feel of spring, with the big flowers and big bees.
Thanks Bonnie. I’m more than ready for spring.
Love the cards! Beautiful flower and bees. Perfect embossed background.
These are all beautiful! You did a great job coloring your images, and I love the subtle differences on each design. Great touch to add the ink to the embossed background on the first one, and your small greeting tucked into one of the hexagons is so cute. Love the fuller look on the arrangement of the flowers and bees on the second one. And the subtle background on the third looks great. They all came out great. I think the yellow one in the middle is my favorite: it’s so bright and cheery!
Thanks Lisa. I was pleased how well the embossing folder worked and then to find a tiny sentiment that fit was icing on the cake.
Judy, these are gorgeous. Beautifully colored flowers and the inked embossing folder looks great. I had to search for your sentiment in the honeycomb. So cool that you found just the right size.
Thanks Gayle. I seldom think to use those tiny sentiments. I was pleased with the way the embossing folder worked.
I love all of your cards Judy! They may use the same main element, but they are all quite different and lovely. The third one is my favorite, simply because the blue flowers and the yellow bees is a beautiful contrast. Its wonderful that you are having so much fun with that kit.
Thanks Golda. There must be something about Hero’s January kits. I had a lot of fun with the January 2020 kit too.
These are all so beautiful Judy. So nice to beautiful, bright spring flowers. What says spring more than honeycomb, flowers and bees???
Thanks Gerry. I’ m really ready for spring.
Beautiful cards! Love the bees!
Thanks Diana. They are cute little guys. I’ve still got quite a swarm on my desk to use.
I’m so behind on commenting at the moment it is embarrassing. Not being notified is a pain at times. Anyway I’m catching up and I’m so happy that you are creating a few cards as I know you haven’t felt much like creating recently. Worth the wait as these are gorgeous. Can’t pick a favorite, and I think you did a lovely job on the colouring.
Thanks Johanna. I’ve really had fun with that large floral spray and the bees I’ve got to get some more colored as I need a couple of Thinking of You cards.
